I requested funds on August 23rd. As of today, Sept. 15th, check has not been received. PayPal says a check takes 1 - 2 weeks. Usually, maybe it's because I'm just across the San Mateo Bridge (Calif.) from PayPal, but I usually get a check within a week. I sent a message to PayPal's Customer Service, and am still waiting for an answer. (I even included their transaction number in the message.)
Does PayPal Customer Service not read their email?

Why wait a week? Use CheckSpace (www.checkspace.com)instead and the money goes straight in to your bank account in 1-3 days.

I really don't want direct deposit. I'd much rather have the check, so that I can control where the money goes, whether it's deposited in our business account, our personal account or just cashed.

However, it is extremely UNcool to market your service in this way (aside from the fact that it's contrary to CGs). It looks like ambulance-chasing. Right now what ex-Paypal customers are looking for, I'd venture, is a low-key, crystal-clear, squeaky-clean and upfront service. They aren't going to trust somebody who appears to be attempting to capitalize off their misfortune.
If you continue this approach, I will strike CheckSpace off my list. I suspect I won't be alone.

HartCottageQuilts: I already knocked them off my "list". In spite of the way PayPal is requesting changes in profiles, which I read about in a notification a couple of months ago, PayPal still offers more options than Brian's system. I certainly didn't agree with Brian's tactics, and his program doesn't appear to offer the option of getting a paper CHECK, just direct deposit. No thanks!

My apologies, I didn't mean to offend, only to let you know we offered an alternative the might interest you.

Maybe Paypal will tell you it's for "ADMINISTRATIVE REASONS" or that they "ARE INVESTIGATING".
My advise to you would be to cross your fingers for they don't "restrict" your account and seize your money, as they did to me (see PAYPAL SEIZED MY MONEY thread)

I really don't think there's anything "subversive" or anything "administrative" involved. I think it's one of two things: It just slipped through the cracks (sh*t happens), or I received it and deposited it with my other Ebay checks and just didn't pay attention to it.
Your problem,in my uneducated-in-the-ways-of PayPal, seems to be a case of an unsubstantiated payment (by you or someone else). Have you had anyone from PayPal check into it?
