I requested a check on 5/2 and PayPal shows it was processed on 5/3. Today (5/19) it still has not shown up! A later check that I requested on 5/9 arrived on 5/15! PayPal is checking into it, but says it may be awhile and in the meantime I have shipped the merchandise and I don't have my money!

The check arrived today (May 20). It is dated May 3 and postmarked May 4! Where has it been? I guess it took the scenic route!
It has some strange barcoding on it - don't know if this came from PayPal or from their post office. At any rate, someone marked out the barcode so I guess the PO made a big mistake!

HELP! The winning bidder of an auction of mine contacted me telling me they paid via PayPal but I have not received notification. She says she paid yesterday. There is nothing on my box nor an email from Paypal.

She went to look at the history, it says payment is "unclaimed". What the heck is that all about?

I paid this morning for an auction. Went to double check the history...sure enough transaction read "unclaimed" by the other side. WHAT IS GOING ON?

I can't ship until I get paid and I wont get my item until they get paid...

HELP!

Hi daneta99,

If the payment shows up as "unclaimed," the buyer sent the payment to the wrong address, usually the result of a typo in the email address.

Please have the buyer cancel the transaction and re-sent the payment to the correct address.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

1. Remind buyers to double-check the email address before sending a payment - cutting and pasting is the best solution.

2. Try to avoid putting a "." after your email address i.e. "Please send payments to [email protected]." because if a buyer cuts and pastes the address with the period, PayPal will not recognize it.

Let me know if this works for you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

Edited for a typo

I emailed PayPal on 5/20 and told them I had received the missing check. I deposited it on 5/22. Now today I get an email from PayPal that they have stopped payment on the original check and are issuing another check! Now I'll get charged with a fee for processing PayPal's bad check! Plus I'll probably have to wait another 2 WEEKS for the replacement check to get here. I'm beginning to really wonder if this is worth it??!!

Hi paintpower,

I'm so sorry to hear you've been having trouble receiving checks from PayPal. It sounds like the check got lost somewhere in the mail, since it was postmarked on May 5th but not delivered until May 20th.

Have you considered transferring money from PayPal directly into your bank account via ACH? It takes approximately 3-5 business days to show up in your account. Many users enjoy this function.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

To Jennifer from PayPal - transferring to my bank account is not an option since I bank at a State Employees Credit Union and they would view this as a business transaction and since they do not have business accounts, would not allow this.
