Help! I already am registered woth ExchangePath. Getting more auctions ready to launch and was delighted to see ExchangePath listed in the payment options section. Big problem, though! I get a message from AW saying I can't check off ExchangePath as an option until I register. As I said, I am already registered with them. Anyway to work around this teeny little problem for those of us already registered?

I have the same problem. I switched to ExchangePath a while back and was delighted to see it listed in the payment option section. Once again, it appears someone only half thought through the process before changing the listing templates. Come on! Didn't anybody at AW think that someone might already HAVE an ExchangePath account???

Before you start using Exchangepath, make sure you understand what you are getting into. EP has the worst security of any of the payment services. They dont even record the cardholder's address. In the event a stolen CC was used, YOUR account will be frozen and YOUR money taken. The CC thieves have already discovered how easy it is to get an EP account with a stolen count. Just check around this site and you'll find the reports already coming in.

I suspect that no matter who you use there are going to be problems of some sort or another with security. If someone comes up with a completely secure system that doesn't change their terms of use every three minutes like PayPal does I'd be happy to use it. I also use BidPay and have found it to be reliable and secure so maybe that is the answer.

And a good company will try to work it out so that fraud is prevented as much as possible. But EP doesnt even take the slightest step of recording the cardholder's address. This is beyond asinine! They might as well advertise "hey credit card crooks! here's your opportunity!"

Someone has. It's Western Union's Moneyzap and it's currently free for now. While nothing can be completely secure, WU has years of experience dealing with wiring funds so they're not a johnny-come-lately making up the rules as they go. I think the only reason they aren't getting the mention the others are is because WU isn't paying referral fees. It's amazing the risks folks will take because someone paid them $5. I once joked that if a CC thief wanted to go to town, he should open a payment service and offer $5 sign up. Hundreds of folks would rush to give him their info. Sure enough, along comes Paymentalt. Despite warnings posted here and on other boards, 14,000 folks signed up and many are now complaining to the various agencies about charges on their cards.
Would you give a stranger access to your credit card and bank account? How about for $5?

BidPay isn't actually Western Union, but it is close enough for me. Especially true after a recent experience of having to use Western Union to wire money to a seller - talk about exorbitant fees! $50.00 for a $600 dollar transfer. I can hardly wait to see what they start charging when they start charging for this "currently free" service called MoneyZap. Won't go any closer to Western Union than BidPay.
