Ebay will be increasing their insert fees from $.25 to $.30. I reported this back in Dec. When will it stop. Now with the postage increase in shipping! I notice my auctions are down 60%. due to the postage. I never said this before, but I will slowly be leaving the auctions sites. I guest Ebay feels the shareholders come first. It's seems every 5 days their down for 10 or more hours at once. Not counting Sunday Maints. Their sevice has gone down at well. If auctionwatch insert a fee auction sites will soon become a ghost town! Ebay lies alot. they first reported 12 million users, now their reporting only 6 million. So how those Palpay have 4 million. Paypal has about 2 million. It seen every two months one of these guys raise their fee. It not goner STOP!!!!!!

The increase in fees is no pleasure for anyone I assure you.
The traffic for eBay and PayPal is considerable though. PC Data Online has put out its December numbers eBay had over 25 million unique hits in December, PayPal had over 7 million unique hits in December.

Both Ebay and Paypal will slowly kill them selfselves from the auction services by rasing fees every 6 months. Ebays stock was up today (01/16) 3 3/4. due to the insert fee raise. The one geeting hurt today was the seller, which I am. All sellers are now going to slow down their auctions due to this insert. If your an Ebay seller, put these numbers together right now and see how your profit levels are doing. Ebay insert fee for a $9.95 item is $.30 , Paypal fee for that item win is $.30, USPS shipping for that item now is $4.35(w/tracker) your internet daily fee $.50 per day. Now add your time fee about 1/2 hour for writing the item to the auction and shipping the item win. said about $5.50 with emails. Now lets add up your total.
($.30 + $.30 + $.50 + $5.50) Total $6.60. The item you sold for $9.95 cost you $5.00, your profit level was $4.95, you just lost $1.65 in time and money. Ebay auctions are now becoming a lost to most of us!
Before any of you get crazy on me just wait a second! How many of you sellers avg. about 30 hours a week on listing ebay auctions. Are your winning auctions down 60% like my are since USPS Shipping fee incease. I like to see more feedback from sellers on this.

No, actually my sales are up from before the holidays (and before the USPS rate increase)! I used to average 8-10 auction wins per week in Oct. This week I had 26 auction wins! That's triple what it used to be!
I have only had one person cancel the auction due to the shipping costs. Of course he should have asked prior to using BuyItNow. But being the super nice person that I am, I let him go his merry ol' way.
Unfortunately, because my sales are up and everyone wants to use PayPal, I will now have to upgrade! Argh! Why anyone would want to us Paypal is beyond me! But in order to keep sales up, I have to offer it as an option. Hummm, more sales=Paypal....less sales=a safe payment method...It is a tough call!
