I was wondering if anybody from Vendio community can share experience of implementing good CC processing solution or just simple recomendation. Verisign deal seems OUTRAGEOUS for small vendors with just few hundred dollars of monthly sales volume.

Any CC related ideas will be appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi,
The new PayPal Merchant "virtual terminal" would be a great solution IF Vendio would incorporate it into their system. So far I have posted 2 messages and have gotten zero response from Vendio. This PayPal solution is the only way a small seller can afford direct CC payments. If you have discovered any other way please let me know as I too, would love to accept CC's.

I use merchantanywhere.com for my retail store.

No long term comitments, computer based terminal software, very friendly.

Ask for Denis as he is the smartest guy there...

Merchant Accounts with a Flat Monthly Rate - $24.95
(2.2% keyed or 1.69% swiped and 30¢ per transaction)

They are cheaper than paypal as well.

Take care,

How do you incorporate that into the Vendio Checkout platform?

Unfortunatly vendio has locked them selves into verisign.

The only option is to run cards manualy.
At least it is cheaper than verisign even if it is not as easy.

Most storefront companys will support a couple of credit card processors and some a large number of them.

Authorize.net is much more reasonable and way more cost effective.
Also it works with PRI/merchant anywhere as well.

It was a thought for a low cost option.

Hopefully vendio will get a clue. It only took 3+ years to get UPS calculated rates after they originaly promised it...

Take care,

We already accept cards manually through PayPal because it keeps our funds together with regular PayPal payments. You are correct though on Vendio being "locked into" Verisign. They will not even answer posts on this subject and that is the worst way to approach this situation. At least they could admit they can't use another service (or maybe they don't want to because they get a kickback from Verisign). Needless to say, Verisign is great if you are the size of Amazon.com, but for the average Vendio Store owner they are way overpriced and very cendescending when you talk to them.
Unless someone has figured out something, we are doomed to accepting credit cards the manual way. We are actually going to open a website with someone else just for this reason. It has cost us numerous sales as customers do not want to give credit card info manually. They just want to do it in a checkout format (plus it would eliminate a lot of extra manual entry work).
