Could you run this by your tech guys and see if they have any comment:
I've found lately that when building batches with AMP, I've quickly run out of resources and had to restart my computer to continue. I run WIN ME on an 800 MhZ PIII Machine withg 256MB RAM and a 30 GB hard drive (with 21 GB free). I have cable modem so I do keep Zone Alarm and Norton Systemworks running in the background. Right after I boot up, I show 82% resources free. After loading AMP, it drops to 43% (which is still fine). When building batches I switch back and forth between AMP and MS Word 2000, cutting and pasting my info. AFter a dozen or so batches are built, my resources will drop to 6-8% and things slow to a crawl, which requires me to shut down, restart and begin again.
I have 8 or 10 old batches in AMP, and I do have a large number of images...anywhere from 2500-4000. (I try to keep the images library as small as possible, but it's a real pain deleting one by one....). Any clue as to what could be hogging resources during my batch builds and what, if anything can be done about it??

Hi jaymark9,
The problem you describe could be related to a virus - if, for example, your computer was exposed to the "lovebug" virus last year, it is possible that even though you have removed the virus traces of it still remain and are causing this problem.
If you are certain that your system is virus-free, can you tell us how many images you have stored in AM Pro?

I keep Norton running at all times and virus check every Friday, so the odds of it being virus related are slim.
