HI
I HAVE BEEN SELLING ON EBAY AND WANT TO SPREAD MY WINGS TO YAHOO FOR SOME AUCTIONS AS WELL-

I CAN'T FIGURE OUT ON PRO -HOW I CAN HAVE 2 DIFFERENT LISTING OPTION TEXTS -THE STANDARD BODY TEXT THAT AUTOMATICALLY ENTER INTO THE AUCTION

I WENT TO PREFERENCES AND LISTING OPTIONS AND MY ONE AND ONLY MAIN STANDING TEXT FOR MY EBAY AUCTIONS IS THERE (BUT, I HAVE A DIFFERENT USER NAME ON YAHOO AND CROSS REFERENCING WITHIN MY EBAY AUCTIONS TO MY YAHOO SELLER ID AND VICE VERSA I WOULD THINK IS NOT ALLOWED) AND THUS I NEED 2 DIFFERENT BODY TEXTS DEPENDING ON WHICH SITE I USE PRO TO OPEN EBAY OR YAHOO WHEN CREATING THE AUCTIONS.

PLEASE BE DESCRIPTIVE WHEN EXPLAINING WHERE AND HOW I DO THIS

THANKS FOR HELP

Hi Stacyp,

Yahoo does not support templates, this is why eBay's description section looks better.
There is only that one area to enter in your default listing text. There is not an option to have one section for each auction site.

BrianAW -

I have the same issues as stacyp. I realize that Yahoo does not support templates while eBay does; however, Yahoo does support HTML. My listing preferences are showing in Yahoo in blue and other color that I have set, as well as being centered, bold, etc. Even the <hb> lines (in color) are there.

Also, I am able to go into the listing preferences and change some of the HTML (i.e., for font style) and it will pick it up for Yahoo - but then the preferences for eBay are off.

Surely there is a way to set two different listing preferences! If we were to create another account with AW, this would eleviate the problem. Is this a viable option?

Also, we are both on what is called the "standard plan" in which we pay an AW listing fee, then FVF. With the new pricing that goes into effect on October 01, would we have to satisfy the "50 auction minimum" on both accounts at .10 before it dropped down to .05? Or could the "50 auction minimum" at .10 be waived on one account? This seems the most logical thing to do in an effort to accomodate AW's loyal and valuable customers.

I would also like to point out that Yahoo does have a Seller's Manager program that is free to download and use, along with free image hosting; but since stacyp and I both use AW for eBay and like AW's program, we would rather pay a nickel listing fee to be able to consolidate all our auctions in one place.

Could you please check into this and post a reply? Thank you very much...nanandme

It has been six (6) hours since I requested a reply to my post, not to mention an email I sent from the Customer Service page of AW approximately three (3) hours ago....

Could someone please reply!? I have auctions to list and would preferably like to get them done sometime today or tonight....

Thank you.

Hi nanandme,

Sorry, you can only set up one set of listing preferences at a time. Otherwise, you could leave the preferences you wish to be able to change from site to site blank and enter them when you click to create your auctions.

Another option could be to set up a whole other account to handle it but there are easier workarounds than that.

In Pro, you could create two inventory items, one for eBay and one for Yahoo. In the description area for the Yahoo item, type in the default text you want to use in Yahoo if you cannot come up with a default to use for both. Then save that item and create an eBay inventory item next, placing the default listing text you want to use for eBay within and save it.

When you want to list, just open your inventory and drag/drop the site you wish to list to, which will manually enter the text you want to include as a default for you into the description area, then you can manually enter the details for that auction above it. With this example you would leave the actual default text area blank, or only put in the details that really would be your default text regardless of site, and only enter the site specific differences into the inventory items you would use to list with.

If I missed any steps or you run into any questions trying to set it up this way, let us know which step you are.

Hi,

First, ignore your other copy of Pro.

Can you log into your other AuctionWatch account, and preview an auction for Yahoo from it? If not, do not even try Pro yet because that account is not set up correctly yet. You must be able to preview from Auction Manager before you will be able to list without error. You can however preview a Yahoo listing from Pro even if it isn't set up correctly yet, which is why we will skip that for now.

Make sure you have your security key stored for Yahoo in that account, and verify that you can go to yahoo.com and click to list an item without error. If you were going to run into any errors with yahoo (if you have a new account with them) - it would come up right after you selected a category to place your sample item into.

(in your reply, let us know the name of your other AW account, if we need to test it for you.)

Hi Chris -

I don't have any auctions for Yahoo at this time - just registered with them yesterday, and was hoping to get some listings done tonight.

My security key is stored and there isn't a problem with listing with Yahoo directly, I would just prefer to use AW.

I have a second AMPro downloaded into separate program file for the Yahoo account, and have already gone into it to set up preferences and html for TOS.

I don't think I am explaining my problem well...

The nanandme AW account is my eBay account. When I decided to start selling on Yahoo, I added my Yahoo seller id info into my profiles. When I realized the preferences were going to be less than what I wanted for both sites, I removed the Yahoo seller id info from the nanandme account. I then set up the carolinas account...

The only problem I am having is that when I try to enter the yahoo seller id info, I get a message saying that seller ID is already on file at AW - and I am sure it is somewhere, since I initially entered it into the nanandme account, but then deleted it (or it appears to be deleted). I am registered with yahoo with the seller id that AW will not accept....this is what I need help with. There is absolutely no way anyone else has the seller id I registered with at yahoo. Could it be that even though I deleted it from the nanandme account, it is still in the AW database somehow linked to the nanandme account? This is getting really confusing...

Also, NO BIG DEAL, but can I use the same email address for both accounts? It would not let me use my primary email address when I initially signed up with the carolinas acct, so I used a yahoo address...

Hello,

Edited content :

Ok, your Yahoo ID is now stored in your new account here. Also, your default email address is now the same for both.

You will need to edit your Yahoo ID to include the password and default email address before listing.

Hi Stacy,

I do not believe there is any glitch keeping you from storing your Yahoo ID.

First, what is your other AuctionWatch account name?

When you log into that account, make sure you are going to the Universal Registration tab and using the 'Store Existing Account' link to store your existing Yahoo account. Otherwise, you may be mistakingly trying to set up another Yahoo ID, when in fact you already have one.

If you are having trouble storing your existing Yahoo ID in your new account, let me know what your Yahoo ID is as well as your new account name, and I will place it there for you.

Hi,

Now nanandme was storing her Yahoo ID in a seperate AuctionWatch account from her primary one. Is that what you are doing? For now, I stored your Yahoo ID in your stacyp account, because from the sounds of it you are not trying to store it in a seperate AuctionWatch account like she was.

The only thing missing now is your Yahoo security key, which you need to store here also to list there with.
https://secure.auctionwatch.com/my/acct/seller_site_specifics.html?site_id=3

The above is the URL where you can store your security key.

Hi Stacy,

She set up another AuctionWatch account herself, to store that ID into. You did not answer when I asked what your other AuctionWatch ID was, so I assumed you were not doing the same. I stored your Yahoo ID for you in your current AuctionWatch account to list under as a result.

If you do want to set up a seperate AuctionWatch account, go ahead and do so, then let us know the username of it so we can move your Yahoo ID that I stored in this account over into that one instead.

Hi Stacyp,

Please let me know the name of the second AW account you have opened so I can move over your 'stacysauctions' Yahoo ID. I assume what you would like is to have your AW account 'Stacyp' to retain your ebay ID, and have your second AW account retain your Yahoo ID 'stacysauctions'. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Stacyp,

Unfortunately we cannot change aw account names, you'd have to open up a stacyp2 account. However I just checked our database -- you already have an AW account open by the name of stacysauctions under the [email protected] email address, which has your Yahoo ID stored there. Based on that information you should be all set, and you can change your email address in Personal Information of your My Account tab.

Nana-n-me had the same issue yesterday she is my friend and christopher changed it in your system -it was not allowing me to enter my proper email address since i use it on another aw account for my ebay selling: [email protected])

Hi Stacyp,

The problem is that you cannot have two AW accounts with the same email address. Your 'Stacyp' account already has [email protected] as the email address for it, which is why you've been unable to hook it up to your 'stacysauctions' account. If you wanted everything to come to one email address, I know that Yahoo Mail has a feature where you can route all emails sent to Yahoo to another email address.
