I can't seem to find the thread announcing the update today of AM to support eBay checkout, but have seen mention of it on AM board. Will an updated version of AMPro be available today as well?

Hi Sonya:
Wondering if you have an answer yet. I saw in AM board that BE would be updated first, which kind of stinks, but is there any timeline for updating AMPro? Thanks.

Hi Abqsales,

Unfortunately I do not know the timeline if it will be supported. When it is available in BE, I would recommend that you give it a try if it is necessary for you to work offline.

Sonya, no personal disrespect intended for you, but I believe I speak for all small-mid volume AMPro users that putting BE ahead of AMPro for Checkout is an affront to our loyalty to AW in sticking with AW through the good and the bad.

With full understanding that you are in the front trenches and may not be privvy to all of the policy making, there is a clear need for management to demonstrate a return of our loyalty and step forward and tell us straight out with definte where's and when's.

Wh yam inot surprised at AW total lack of loyalty to its customers - this one will only be here till my present plan runs out. One less will not hurt AW you may say but quite a few other selelrs I know have been wanting to know how my tenure is going; reckon they get a good report??

I'm certainly interested Swagman. I believe that as a paying customer we have a RIGHT to to be able to call a customer service department and speak with a representative to discuss billing/personal issues regarding our accounts and not be made to use a message board for such issues. Maybe you should think of going to a legal counselor to get the facts about your rights on this topic.

I've also been doing my homework on other programs and found one that has a flat rate, no final value fees, or listing fees for my type of listings,etc. Will let you know when I find out more about this online company if they're a good prospect or not for my future auction listings.

I know my issues are petty considering any billing issues out there but I hate doing all this html work for my auctions to only have an ugly title sitting at the top of my description that sits out like a sore thumb. Not to mention eBay supplies us with a title at the top of the auction page, why have one in the description? Things like that are important to me.

Talk later,

Kajn'

My problem is that the offline bulk lister is essential to me. I know AW wants people to switch to BE, but I don't really have much use for the features that separate it from AMPro. And if AMPro doesn't support checkout, meaning I have to still go in and manually edit listings for shipping, etc., it severely diminishes the value of AW to me. Surely when the decision was finally made to support checkout in AM, there must have been some thought given to the offline products. I like AW for the most part and have been very happy with its reliability. I certainly don't want to leave. If checkout isn't going to be incorporated into the offline products in a timely manner, please let us know so we can make our business decisions. This is a critical selling season and I know I don't have time to wait around.

I guess management doesn't understand that to alot of users AW is worthless if the the offline version doesn't support the current auction options, If they think I'm going to go and edit 200+ auctions everytime think again. I haven't listed a thing for the last week ( waiting on the smoke to clear ) but as I can see AW is still going down in flames. I've never complained about getting charged for the service SINCE it provided what I needed, but since they are unable to provide the service I need, I'll go where they do and probably pay more but I DON'T mind paying for something I need, ( SUPPORT OF CHECKOUT ON THE OFFLINE VERSION).

Hurry up and charge my credit card so I can close my account.

I brought the subject up about the need for Auctionwatch users to have the CHECKOOUT OPTION added weeks ago.

I am a seller who lists over 150 auctions per week and last Sunday when I had 150 end, it was a nightmare! I had 12 Billpoint payments sent WITHOUT shipping and handling added. Because I had to send further invoices out for the shipping and handling, it cost me an additional .35 per transaction. Please auctionwatch give us a time frame when we can expect AMPRO users to have the ability to use Checkout. Revising 150 auctions is impossible. Will it be a week? a month?

An answer would be appreciated.

Hello everybody,

We are working on integrating checkout with our offline tools as quickly as possible - unfortunately, the integration is not as simple as it seems and we do not have a solid timeline for this right now.

We will let you know as soon as we are able, and we apologize for the inconvenience that may have resulted from this.

I can't vouch for this trick, but it looks like a pretty interesting way to get around eBay's Checkout system. See the disclaimer AND the screenshot...

http://www.itsalie.com/forums/Forum1/HTML/000022.html

...and here's the code they used:

<SCRIPT>

var i;

for(i=0; i<document.form[0].elements.length; i++) {

if(document.forms[0].elements[i].value=='Checkout') {

document.forms[0].elements[i].value='NOT Use Checkout';

}

document.forms[0].action = 'http://www.ebay.com';

}

</SCRIPT>

The script changes the text of the CHECKOUT button AND redirects the customer to the URL specified in the script. This example takes them to the eBay home page. But it seems you also could edit it to create a mailto:[email protected] or do similar things to other items in a listing.

....Mike

PS. I'm waiting for AW to adapt AMPro to eBay's Checkout.
