I have just upgraded to to 3.75 ampro from 3.5 and cannot open the application.

There is an error message that reads
"runtime error 429"
"ActiveX component cant create object"

I am extremely worried as all my inventory is in that program as well as saved batches.

The computer is a pentium 3 with 128 in ram
and operating on windows ME.

Please help me with this issue as this is extremely urgent and I do NOT have a back up to my inventory.

Hello,

First, make a backup of your Batches folder and inventory file.
C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch\batches
C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch\data\inv.dat

Then, uninstall the copy you have now and download a new one from the site.
http://www.auctionwatch.com/my/client/ampro.x

When you are finished installing the new version, manually transfer those files over into the new copy and launch the program.

How do you make a copy of a dat file- C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch\data\inv.dat

I am having trouble:

I click start, then run, incert the file i want to open C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch\data\inv.dat - the nextprompt asks me what type of program I want to use to open the file?

I just want to make a back up copy- please help with this .

Hi Byron,

If you just drag and drop them to a floppy disk you will have a backup copy. Or you can right-click on the file and select copy, then paste it somewhere else onto your computer and then rename it so that you know it's the copy.
