I am an Auctiowatch member and have been using AM Pro, but my AM Pro program got messed up and I had to uninstall it. I am now trying to download a new version of AM Pro from the Auctiowatch website, but whenever I click DOWNLOAD NOW button, nothing happens. I have been trying all day! HELP! Dave

Hi Dave,

The link to the AMPro kit is this:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/my/client/ampro.x

If nothing happens when clicking on it, please make sure that no program is interfering with the download. Some Internet traffic filter or other background task might be running on your computer - if so, turn it off and try again.

Please let us know if you still have problems.

Radu, I have nothing running in the background on my computer, even turned off my real-time antivirus protection. Still cant even get to the download page, or when I can it downloads about 80-90K and then just sits there and runs. What else can I try????? Dave

Hi Dave,

In case it happens sometimes to download, but stops at 80-90KB, it looks like an Internet connection problem (initially, I thought that the download never starts...).

Please check that your Internet settings are correct, your browser is working properly, your modem is OK; if any proxies are used, check if their settings are correct. Have you noticed any problems accessing other pages on the Internet?

Please choose "Save to disk" when downloading AMPro, then run the installation from the locally saved file.

Radu, I am downloding the program to my hard drive. I have had no problems with any other downloads or accessing pages on the net. I have two ISP's, and have tried the download with both, same result. Most of the time I dont even get to the actual download before it stalls. Any other suggestions?? Dave

Hi Dave,

If I understand well, you can access other pages on the Internet with no problems, and this includes the AuctionWatch site and the AMPro page itself:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/my/client/

I'm not really sure what you mean by "I don't even get to the actual download before it stalls". But one possibility might be that you have an association between the .x extension (used in the download link) and a program.

Please check this with Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options... > File Types. If there is an association to x in the list, please delete it.

I have tried to download the update thru ampro and tried to download the whole program but, I am having the same problem. the download stalls just before 100kb everytime. I have shut off everything as suggested and I have no problems downloading anything else on the internet. seems to be and auctionwatch problem. please help

Hi ultralineent,

Try downloading from a different browser, or try changing the download location. If this doesn't work let me know how much RAM you have, and what ISP you are using.

Radu & Sonya, No problem with the association in Windows Explorer that you talked about. Also, as I said, I have Two ISP's and the same problem with both. Sometimes I cant even get to the actual download when I click on DOWNLOAD NOW, it just stalls there. Other times it downlods 80-90K before it stalls. Any other ideas?? Dave

Hi Dave and Al,

One other idea would be to clear the cache of your browser. The 80-90K from the first failed attempt might be stored there and get in the way of a proper download now.

Radu and Sonia, I have also cleared my temp. files and cache, still no help. I also gave a friend of mine my AW Id & Pass. and had him go in and try to download the file on his computer. He had EXACTLY the same problem on his computer with a different ISP and computer! It HAS to be a problem on your site, or a problem connected with my account! Please let me know what you can find because I really like AM Pro and hate to switch to another program, but its just too time consuming to go back to listing items from the AW site! Thanks for your efforts, Dave

Hi Dave and Al,

I have just checked and the download from our site works fine.

And, actually, you do not even need to be logged in when downloading, so this cannot be related to some accounts. So please give it a try when not logged in...

A couple more things:

- please try with this link
http://www.auctionwatch.com/my/client/v3.7.5/ampro.exe

- please try to use another browser, in case you have one installed.

Any chance you have AMPRO posted on some other page like cnet? I seem to be able to download from anywhere but your site?

Thanks again

That was the secret, downloading it without being logged in at AW! I never even thought of it! Better ad this to your list of solutions when someone has a download problem! Thanks for all the help! Dave
