I've used Ampro for a long time with more than 300 auctions. Currently using version 3.75. For the past 2 days when ever I try to open Ampro, I get the following message: "Ampro has caused a DWSTG.DLL error and the program will close." I have a lot of auctions I want to get going, so any suggestions on getting Ampro going again would be most welcomed. Do I need to reinstall Ampro? Thanks.<br />

Hi jdellis,

You may use the Add/Remove Programs Wizard in Windows to uninstall the program. You do not need to worry about saving your batches and images as these will be retained, however, you may want to copy the batch and images folders to a separate location on your hard drive "just in case".

Once you have uninstalled AM Pro, you will need to reinstall it. You may use the install kit that you used before if it is still on your system, otherwise, you will need to download the install kit again (please be sure to select "save to disk" when downloading.) Before you begin the install process, please be sure to close any open applications you might have installed on your system.

Once you have reinstalled the program, you will be prompted to restart Windows. After you complete these steps, you should be able to run Auction Manager Pro without error. If you are still experiencing problems after uninstalling/reinstalling the program, please let us know.

Brian, thanks for the quick reply. I uninstalled then reinstalled but I'm still getting the same dll error message. Any other ideas? Thanks
Jim

Hi Jdellis,

Do you have any programs running while you download and install the software. There may be a conflict with a program or virus software. Close down all applications and try to reinstall again.

Tried closing virus software, etc., then reinstalling but I am still getting that dll eror message when I try to run Ampro. Is that dll file a part of Ampro? How about if I delete it? Thanks for your help.

Hi Jdellis,

I wouldn't delete that driver file, it belongs to your windows system directory. Do you have any programs open at all when you download or install the software, any background applications?

Brian - I close everything that I can. If I click Ctrl - Alt - Dlt, which things do I need to keep open for the computer to work? Then I can close everything else & try one more time. I downloaded eBay's Sellers Assistant Basic, but I would still prefer to use Ampro if I can ever get the thing to run again. Also looked at Andale. But I still thik I like Ampro best. It's back to work tomorrow, so really need to get this thing running again today. Thanks for all your help, Brian

Hello,

The only way around this problem is to uninstall then reinstall the program several times, as that error means you have a corrupted installation. Try rebooting your computer then reinstalling AMPro. If that doesn't work, you will need to download a new copy of the program (in this case it would be a good idea for you to copy any batch information to another location on your hard drive).

Hey Sonya,
Actually, I believe that is what I've already done. I did uninstall and reinstall several times. And I did download a new copy of Ampro. But I'll give it a few more goes.
Thanks
Jim
