I am running a P4 1.5 Gig, 512 Rambus, Windows XP and inside of Auction Manager 3.75 when I open a batch then try to scroll through the list - Ampro crashes. If I scroll with the up/down keys it is ok, but if I click on slide bar to move through the list of items (not images) it either immediately crashes or sometimes it just won't move the bar, then it crashes. Everything else seems to work ok. This is the first time I have run it on XP (a clean install).
It says something about Ampro has encountered an error and needs to close.
Then it asks if I would like to send information regarding the crash to Microsoft.
Then I press close or something and the program ends.
I have tried this over and over and same results.
Could the problem with the batches have anything to do with the fact that the batches were created on a different computer running Win98, and this computer is trying to use them with XP?

Hi Cdplanet,
Try creating a few new listings in a new batch, to see if this produces the same errors. Since you did have a clean install of 3.75, the fact that the batches were created on Win98 might be the problem here. Let me know the results.

I'm having the same problem with my XP. I can't post any new batches because my program will not open. I have some new batches I've worked on but not uploaded so I'm a little fried that my work is going down the tubes.

I got an error message that AMPRO had an error and must close. Tried three times to open the program but got the same message. I finally re-booted and was able to get into the program. Sounds weird to me.

Hello!
Lawdy! I'm about ready to throw this new computer out the window! Got a new 'puter. Athlon 1.8, 512 SDRAM, Windows XP. I did a clean download of AMPro 3.75 from the web. The first time, it crashed and did not install. I did it again. Installed. I then created a new batch with several hundred listings only to have what has been mentioned in this posting before. CRASH! Up pops the error message, send a report to Microsoft, AMPro will shut down and any unsaved info could be lost. Well, I sent an error report to Microsoft, clicked off that box and AMPro did indeed shut down-losing all of my batch!! It had all been saved (I'm retentive about doing that as I've been burned before). Anyway, I can not run AMPro. Just as cdplanet mentioned, if I create a batch and begin to scroll throught the batch listings this same error message comes up and shuts the program down. It does not do as it had before on my other operating system and computer(windows 98). With that it would scroll through with ease. Now, it jumps back and forth as you scroll, up and down, until it finally gives you the error and shut down. I went to Microsoft for a possible solution. It suggested checking the 'Properties' and 'Compatibility' mode of the AMPRo. Which I did, setting the 'Compatibility' to both Windows 95 and 98. Now, the AMPRo doesn't shut down, but it displays poor graphics, AND it does not show anything in the preview section other than 'wing dings' and other crud that makes no sense to the average joe. I've tried to no avail. It is driving me nuts. I'm losing a lot of coin trying to get this thing to run. Any help? Any patches? Any ideas? I'm fresh out. Thanks.

Hi projectileemesis,
If you are having problems scrolling in Windows XP, please set the display theme to
"Windows Classic". To do this, please click Start > Control Panel > Display > Themes.
