I've tried everything- even wiped my hard drive clean and reinstalled only the basic Windows ME and AM Pro 3.75. I keep having all kinds of problems. Sometimes an error message will appear saying AM Pro has caused an error, sometimes the program will just disappear when I click on the "category" button to select a category, sometimes it will say low on memory, sometimes it starts up with my batch items highlighted in yellow saying something about needing to check something or other manually in the batch. In other words, it is consistently inconsistent. It crashes every 10 minutes on average
I'm running a PC clone Athlon 1.5+ with 256 ram.
This is the most unstable program I have come accross in my 10 years of computing! I don't have problems with any other software on my machine.
Any body else having problems on Windows ME?
Is there a patch or am I out of luck? I've tried to work with it, but it's such a hassle!

Hi enskpo,
AMPro will color batch items in yellow if they are no longer valid because, for instance, one of the associated images has been deleted or the chosen category has been discontinued at the site.
As for the errors, please be a bit more specific about the actual error messages and the operations which lead to them.

Hi radu-
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. The yellow color batch problem I have experienced several times almost always goes away after I restart my system. So there really isn't any TRUE problem with my images or whatever that message indicates.
I kept a log tonight of my frustrating AMPRO session. Tonight was worse than normal and I eventually gave up after about 45 minutes. AMPRO must have known that I complained about it!
The problems I'm having are very intermittent. I can go days without hardly any problems. Other times, it's impossible to get any work done. Here's a log of this evening's fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first crash happened after opening an existing batch and double clicking on an item, causing AMPRO to crash and generate the message: "Ampro has caused an error in MSVBVM60.DLL. AMPRO will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."
Restarted computer, exact same thing happened.
Restarted and I was able to edit an existing batch with no problem.
But, it crashed when I tried to add a new item to a new batch. When asked to select a venue, I got the same crash and error message as above.
Restarted computer again, started AMPRO, opened up an item in an existing batch with no problem. Clicked on the category button and AMPRO just disappeared. No error message, nothing. Pressed ctl, alt, del; but saw no sign of AMPRO in the active programs.
Restarted computer again, started AMPRO. Made a new item in a new batch. Everything was going smoothly until I clicked on save and entered a file name for the batch. AMPRO crashed as soon as I clicked on the enter button to save the batch. I then got the error message "run time error 0".
This last crash really screwed up my sytem. When I clicked on my desktop icon, I got the blue screen of death error.
Net result= 1 item listed in 30 minutes. I finally gave up for the night.

Hi enskpo,
The errors you encounter might indicate either a bad AMPro installation, or the existance of multiple, conflicting, installations.
Please uninstall and reinstall the program. When doing so, please make sure that, in case there were indeed multiple installations, you have removed all of them.
You may use the Add/Remove Programs Wizard in Windows to uninstall the program. You do not need to worry about saving your batches and images as these will be retained, however, you may want to copy the batch and images folders to a separate location on your hard drive "just in case".
Once you have uninstalled AM Pro, you will need to reinstall it. You may use the install kit that you used before if it is still on your system, otherwise, you will need to download the install kit again (please be sure to select "save to disk" when downloading.) Before you begin the install process, please be sure to close any open applications you might have installed on your system.
Besides the AMPro problems, it would be good to check that there's no virus at work on your computer. Also, there is a slight suspicion of a computer memory problem.

Just to let you know, I have windows ME...I get the same errors, same problem...once I upload a batch, I cannot do another, I get the same error message as above, have to restart my computer each time...thought it was me.....now I don't think so...there are obviously compatability problems with AMPro and WindowsME....I already uninstalled and reinstalled...doesn't matter, still happens....just an FYI....

Just to let you know, I've been having the same exact errors all of a sudden w/ WINDOWS 98 2nd Edition.
I came here looking for answers. Don't see any yet. This is off of a fresh install of WINDOWS w/ AMPRO, tried uninstalling AMPRO, & then REDOWNLODING it, then REINSTALLING w/ that..
SAME ERRORS.
I need a solution or else, AMPRO & my subcription is history.

It won't really help, but I have Windows ME and AMPRO 3.75 since it first became available and have had no problems. I don't think it is an ME problem.
Good Luck!

Hi atomaset and jhf2662,
In order to be able to help, please give us more details about the error messages you are seeing. Also, what is the type of operation that leads to the errors, and does it always happen?
