Hi,
I just updated to 3.75 version of AMpro and it won't open. The first message was "runtime372 failed to load 'leftnavbar'.
I have tried again after closing all other programs- and now:
"error opening the 'C:\ProgramFiles\auctionwatch\data\profile.dat' file.
My AMPro will not open or do anything.

I am really lost as to what to do.
Hope you can help me.

PS:
I have Windows98SE and Internet Explorer.
Everything was FINE till the update.

Hi Judith,

If you get errors on the profile.dat file, please use Windows Explorer to open the folder C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch\data and remove the files named profile.dat and Preferences.map.

Then restart AMPro and synchronize. Please make sure that your default profile is correct after doing this (menu entry Edit > Profile Manager).

Please let us know if this helped solve the problem.

Hello,
I didn't listen to you- and fiddled around with the program and it worked for one batch of auctions. They successfully uploaded. BUT, tonight, I had every problem imaginable and finally, the photos were distorted when I went to preview. Then the program closed.
I am feeling as though I need to delete the program and start over.
I should have listened to your first advice. Sorry! Please advise me again.

Hi Judith,

If the program would not start, starting over is a good idea. Please uninstall using the Add/Remove Program option inside Control Panel, and make sure that no other program is running when installing AMPro again.

I am not sure though what you mean by "distorted images". Please make sure that you have chosen the right setting of the AMPro preference named "Resize large images for fast download and crisp appearance" (inside the Listing Options folder).

In case you happen to have problems again, please copy here the exact error message.
