last week when opening the aw program on my computer, i got the message about updating to v4.0. i clicked to update, and my computer went through all the motions and told me the update was complete. i rebooted my computer, and, voila, i still i have v3.75. ok, i opened it up, synced it like i was told to do when the update came through, closed it, and started again. voila, still v3.75. i've got work to do, so i just used v3.75 and get busy. after seeing all the posts here, though, i'm happy my update didn't go through.
now, for the last three days, i've tried the update, and every time i try, it won't work. every time i get an error message:
AM Upd
Run-time Error '430'
Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface.
hopefully you can tell me what's up with this, but after seeing how many people are having major problems with v4.0, i'll stick to v3.75 for the time being anyway. just don't lock us all out of using it and force us to upgrade to v4.0 while it apparently still has some major bugs to be worked out.

Hi Spadehammer,
What is your system information -- your operating system, internet connection and RAM? Are you still able to use 3.75 even though you get that error when updating to 4.0? You may want to try downloading 4.0 from the website to a different directory on your hard drive and seeing if you can install it.
i am using windows 98 with a DSL internet connection. i believe i have 128RAM, but absolutely certain. 633 processor w/20 gig hard drive. i have moved in the past few days, and i had a digital cable hook-up for internet before moving, although i don't know how that would be of any consequence.
i had actually already thought about your suggestion to download the update into another directory, but after seeing all the posts with people having to reload their OS, quite frankly, i'd be scared to open up the new program. i have been fortunate enough to this point to have never experienced a fatal crash of my whole system, and i'm not looking for the reconfiguration practice right now. so, hopefully aw will continue to allow access to 3.75, and i'll wait it out a little longer while hopefully these bugs are worked out of 4.0.
Runtime error 430 indicates a conflict, possibly caused by a Internet connection problem during the autoupdate process. To upgrade to v4.0, you will now need to download the full program kit from:

When asked, please save the file to disk and then simply install it over the old v3.75.
