Please help. When we now try to upload we get the following error message.
"Synchronization failed - General server error
There is a problem with starting the AuctionSync process.
Please check the Announcements page on the AuctionWatch site."
Just prior to this, Norton Internet Security had notified us that ampro.exe was attempting to access the internet. We told Norton okay, and now are unable to upload.

Hi Prissimiss,
Try rebooting Pro, and synchronizing again. If you get the same error try reconnecting to the internet to see if that makes a difference. Let me know if you continue to have trouble.

Have rebooted the PC and restarted Pro with the same results. Rebooting reconnected to the internet also, and this did not help.

Hi Prissimiss,
What version of Pro are you using? If it is the new one, is this the first time you are synchronizing it? Also please check your proxy settings -- you might need to uncheck that box in Pro, if it is indeed checked off. You can find it in Preferences.

Hi Prissimiss,
Did you always get this error or did it start when you upgraded? Try uninstalling/reinstalling the program, if this does not work I will have to escalate the problem to engineering to see if there is anything else we can try that I did not yet suggest.

Hi Prissimiss,
Go to your AuctionWatch directory in your C-drive. You'll see a bunch of folders there -- the important ones are batches, and images. If you use inventory, then the inv folder as well. Copy those onto a seperate location on your hard drive somewhere. When you reinstall the program again when you enter your login information (if it prompts you to do that), when you synchronize, your settings will download again.
Let us know if this doesn't work so we can escalate the problem.

All is well now. The re-install did not help. The problem turned out to be Norton Internet Security.
As I initially mentioned, all of this started after Norton noticed Auction Watch attempting to access the network and prevented it. Apparently, even though we told Norton to allow it, it did not.
Last night I went into Norton and looked at its setting for ampro. It said it allowed access to the interent for the application. However, it was actually not doing so. I discovered this by dis-enabling Norton and then did a successful synch. I then went into Norton and reset the settings. All appears to be fine now.
I think Norton got fouled up by a blue screen of death we suffered earlier thanks to bill gates.
