Just when I was starting to get up my nerve to update from 3.75 to 4.0, now I hear that there is a 4.1? When I open my SM Pro 3.75 is still only asks to update to 4.0, is that correct or will it update to 4.1? Or do I have to go from 3.75 to 4.0 to 4.1 ??
BTW, I'm an old foggey, who is still using NT 4.0 sp6a with IE 6a, is there any problems unique to that operating system ?
Does that mean there will be no more upgrades to 3.75?
Is 4.1 setting up a new starting point, and everything will be upgraded from that point on?
Are the batch files I have for 3.75 compatible with 4.1? Is it recommended to uninstall your old SM (3.75) and then install 4.1, or just do an install of 4.1 in another file folder?? What all will I have to rename and/or copy to have both 4.1 and 3.75 available in my computer?
This is very scary for a semi-novice self educated PC user!
4.1 is an upgrage from 3.75. Right now it's only available as a new download, there is no update to it that you would get from 4.0.
Your batches should be available for access on the newer version of pro but just incase you are not sure, you could download 4.1 and place it on a different location on your drive so that you had two copies of the program -- 3.75 and 4.1. I am checking on the batches inquiry to be sure.
You can use your batches created in 3.75 in 4.1. However if you are still worried, I do recommend that you install 4.1 on a different directory to be sure. Let us know if you have any more questions!
