Hello
I just spent a couple of frustrating hours... I inported 150 items of new inventory using the inventory importer. It worked fine except when (1) I matched the Image to Image fields I received an error... "file format not valid" I had listed the image as name.jpg... please tell me what I did incorrectly. I then added new images and did an up load. (2) my inventory did not up load. It is in the inventory listings in SM Pro but the online inventory did not update. Can this be done an easier way? Wow... that's a lot of duplication of handling if I now have to create batches.
A couple of additional questions in the same area: (3) If I archive an auction that did not sell, will it be put back into my inventory? (4) If I have an item in my storefront and I want to send it to an auction, will the software move it from the storefront to the auction in my inventory? Providing I launch it from the inventory modual?
Thank you

Hello again
I just uploaded a batch to my storefront using copy & paste. None of my ebay information that was imported was up loaded. This is time consuming in the extream to redo all of this for a third time, i.e.
I enter data into my database
I import it into Auction watch... my import includes the folder, ebay catagory, start bid, buy it now bid, etc.
I then must copy & paste into a batch? and lose folder, catagory, start bid etc.?
Either I am doing something wrong or this is a very cumbersome way to do inventory.
Please help!!!!!!!!

I ran into the same problem. When inporting (through excel at least) many of the catagories that SMPro uses are not able to be imported. Then when I created a batch listing I had to reenter many of the same fields. I feel your pain. It would be nice if we can import ALL feilds into SMPro that it uses.
I was going to check out SMBE version but it doesn't support offline Store and fixed pricing for store.
I am getting to the point it might be best to just use this for auctions and build my own store using many of the free tools and scripts that are on the net.

Hi eaglewolf
Actually, when I used Access instead of Excel, all the fields imported really well. The problem is the inventory doesn't synchronize. I imported just fine. Folder assignment etc. BUT the only way is to copy & paste to a batch... that's when I loose the data.
I wish someone from auction watch would respond and tell me if I did something wrong or if there are plans to sync the inventory.
I have over 1000 items I would like to up load but can't keep re doing things!
Thanks for the support though. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with expectations that are not being met!

I am not sure I understand. When you imported from Access to SMPro all the fields that SMPro has are imported? Such as Ebay catagoried, and all the 4 shipping types, etc...
But when you move them from inventory to batch you loose those things? If so are you sure they are importing? I know that I can tell ecel to import a certain table but when it is all said and done it is not there.
So I use excel (havn't had the time to build the access database yet) to import items, and basically I can import the following:
Folder, Title, Description, Image, Starting Bid, Actual Cost, Shipping method (only three types) Reserver price, Qty in Inventory, SKU UPC, and Instant buy.
Then when I move them from invonroty to batch I have to tell it how many, what catagory.
The other reason why I use excel is it is easy to copy and past to multiple dells for the same information. That tends to speed things up for me.

Hi Paula,
I apologize for the delay.
What are you listing your images names as, that is causing you to receive that error?
Unfortunately your inventory in Pro will not synchronize with your online inventory.
When the item for auction doesn't sell it goes back to your inventory. You can archive it if you like, however it aleady would have been recognized by inventory.
If you move a storefront buy now item out of inventory by decreasing the quantity in storefront to zero, it will go back to your quantity available in inventory and then when you launch it as an auction, go to quantity at auction as one. So the answer is yes -- I hope that made sense.
When you are importing your excelt file, which specific fields are not importing your information?

Hi Sonya
Not a problem... Is there any plan to sync the inventories? It would cut listing time more than in half because then everything could be done on line without the cut and paste.
Regarding the image names, I just typed in the image name and the extension of .jpg
eaglewolf
to explain a little clearer... everything imports fine to the inventory on the local SMPro. But when I copy & paste to my storefront, all the ebay information i.e. category, shipping etc. does not import. It all has to be re-entered in the on-line inventory.
I hope that is clearer.

PS would you like me to email you the structure of the database I created from AWs export feature? I'd be happy to.
