I have discovered that I am being charged for images when I am not supposed to be! I am on the payment plan where images are included. Please someone in accounting email me ASAP.

Hi Stayingathome,
I checked your statement -- some of the auctions with image fees appear to have been listed elsewhere. The plan you are on does include images as long as they were attached to the auction through the create listing process. For the auctions created through AW that have the image fees, are they relists?

No, it appears that it's charging me for every auction I launch, either one or two charges for those GIF images. I never relist except through AuctionWatch!! This has apparently been happening for months!

Someone is using my images in their auctions and I'm getting charged for it!!!

Hi Tracy,
What you should do is delete that image from your account, then upload it again using a different name for it. Since we no longer accept gif uploads, you will need to convert it to jpeg. You can then use the refund request form to request refunds for the stolen images.

There are hundreds of them over the last 10 months. Isn't there a way your software can pull these - it will be ALL of the charges for images.
Also - even if I delete those images, how will you be able to prevent this from happening again??

I will need to talk to our billing specialist about that.
Unfortunately there is no way to prevent other people from stealing images. If you have a graphics program, the best way to stop it from happening is to watermark your images in some way. You can put your eBay ID on them, so that way if someone tried to steal your image they would see that your name is on it, and not take the image. If you don't have a graphics program you can rename the image every so often.

Hi Tracy
I just dropped in to see what was being posted and maybe ask a question, when I saw your images had been "stolen"! You need to contact eBay regarding this and tell them the user name if you can find it of who is doing this. I believe this is fraud and they are very pro-active about this type of thing. It may not get you any money back but If the same person is "stealing" your copy they will be kicked off ebay. Gee, I hope they haven't been doing anything that affects your ebay account!
My question, for Sonya (HI)is How can I figure out how much space my pictures are taknig up... I'm just wondering.
Also, plese take a look at the duplicate listings thread...

Why can't AuctionWatch software only bill my account for auctions submitted by me? It makes no sense that you can't pick up on that.

Hi Paula,
There unfortunately is no easy way, you would basically have to add up the sizes for each image to see how much space your images take up. Keep in mind we do not have a space limit for images.

I have no idea what this post below means. I never create auctions outside my AW account, and even if I did list right on eBay, they would be under the same user ID. No other eBay ID should be able to link to one of my images. Your software sees that they are linking to my image, so it bills me. If it can see that, then it can see that it is not my user ID posting the auction.

Hi Tracy,
Your image URL contains your AW account name. You can use your images anywhere you want, however you will accumulate image charges if you do that. URLs cannot detect whether or not the ID you are using belongs to you.

What if I tell you that stayingathome is the only ID that will ever use my account? Can't you set the software to give an error message for anyone else who tries to?
Please let me know if billing can help on this, I cannot see spending the time to request refunds for the hundreds if not thousands of times this has occurred over the last year.
If billing cannot pull those entries, then can I submit one request for a refund and list all of the entries on my request with a total at the bottom?

Hey Diana/ Tara/ Sonya/ Whomever;
After reading this thread this got me thinking that since I've got so many images uploaded, people might want to steal some of mine in hopes I wouldn't catch it.
So....
Last night, I watermarked all my images and re-imported them into SMBE, but when I synced the images, none of the new ones took.
I've got some active auctions right now, so I really don't want to delete all the images and re-import them since that will make some of the images appear broken for the hour or so that it does take to do the import.
Is there any way any of your engineers can delete the checksum values for all my images so SMBE will sense them as new versions and overwrite the images that are currently in image hosting?

Hi Gellenburg,
This can be done. Please follow these steps:
1. close SMBE
2. manually delete the images that you want changed, using Windows Explorer (you will need to go to 'program files\auctionwatchSMBE\images\gellenburg)
3. restart SMBE
4. add the new, watermarked images
5. synch; the new images should upload now

I just wanted to follow this thread up with the fact that AW handled this efficiently and professionally. The stolen image charges were pulled by the billing department and refunded in bulk.
I really appreciate the help I received from AW on this one!!
