For the last four times that I have tried to create a new Category, AMPRO shut down or locked the computer.
I keep getting the following error on AMPRO:
"Unhandled exception in AMPRO.EXE (MSVBVM60.DLL) OXC000008F: Float inexact result"
Microsoft Visual C Debugger shows: 66024D53 jmp 66046DF1 Context: MSVBVM60! 66024D53[]
66024D08 push ebx Context: MSVBVM60! 66024D08[]
I am running Windows, ME on a Pentium III and have 512 MB Memory and 15 Gig of free disk space. This should not be happening.
Do you have a patch to resolve this problem?
Several times, I have restarted the computer and tried again, with the same results. If I can't use your software, I will have to get a new hosting service to launch my auction. I don't want to leave, but this irritating problem will drive me away!

Haven't launch any auction on AuctionWatch since this problem show up, until this afternoon, when I launched a few. My email send directly to AuctionWatch on 12/29/02 has not yet been answered!
Please provide an email address, to which I can write and get some answers. I am not happy with the service at this point!
It has been a few days....update please on this problem? (you were forwarding to techs days ago?!)
Very annoying and time consuming to correct this problem every time it happens. I have followed your suggestion, but it has not help the problem.
Thank you

Hello,
I have contacted engineering regarding this issue. Please do the following:
1. Go to the Windows Update site and install all critical packages and service packs the site recommends for your installation;
2. Install also Visual Basic 6.0 SP5 Run-Time Files. The link to this kit is:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/VBRun60sp5.exe
3. If this does not work, please install SMPro again
4. If that also does not work, please check your computer for viruses.
If all four of these fail, let us know, and I will notify engineering again.
Regards,
Sonya

I want to launch 500 to 1000 auctions daily, how can I do that? Your system is very slow, is there a way I can download from a database or a spreadsheet and launch the whole thing in minutes instead of weeks? I need to do that myself.
Naturally, I wanted the listing on my own format on HTML and JavaScript, similar to the ones I am using now, however, the listings would be shorter.
Do you have any ideas how to do that, or should I start looking for another service? These are products we manufacture or distribute. The ones that sell would be repeated listings, the ones we don't sell would be eliminated from our database.
I understand that you managed to list some auctions, but you still get the error message when browsing for a category. Is this correct, and is the error message always the same (Float inexact result)?
Please let us know whether you tried the fixes suggested by engineering:
- updating your Windows system
- installing the latest service packs for Windows Me and Internet Explorer
- installing the latest patch for Visual Basic?

Being there and done that already! This is the same canned advise I received from Sonya.
I was able to list only on existing categories, otherwise I am back to the same problem. Can't edit existing categories neither, because the problem reappears.
Most of the time I am not able to get the errors, because computer lacks up, I need to do a cold shutdown, scan disk for errors, restart Windows. When I don't experience a total lack-down I am able to launch Microsoft Visual Studio C+ Debugger or Borland's Debugger.
Very annoying and time consuming to correct this problem every time it happens. I have followed your suggestion, but it has not help the problem.
Is the email address where I send the last email the correct email address to receive support? Do they answer their emails?
If you try to manually enter the category number in the Site Information tab, without clicking on the Browse button, will the program still crash? At what point does this happen?
On the other hand, if you pick an existing category from the drop-down, it won't crash?
Regarding support email, we do answer them as we receive them. I checked your email address back to that date and couldn't find anything -- we had an email problem that we posted an announcement for, it's possible that is why we didn't receive it, unless you wrote us from another email address.
