We have been listing all of our actions from auctionwatch.com and using the standard format to list auctions. we are looking at sales manager pro currently and when we try to syncronize our information with auctionwatch.com's system we receive this message

Synchronization failed - Bad response from server
There is a problem with images synchronization.
Please go to www.AuctionWatch.com and check your images.

What do they mean when they say go to Auctionwatch.com and check your images.

Hello,

The error message you are receiving when attempting to synchronize indicates that there may be a problem with one or more of your image files.

In order to diagnose which image file(s) are causing the sync error, please try the following:

1. After closing all batches, click the "AuctionSync" icon in the lefthand toolbar.

2. Click the Details button after synchronization starts. This will give you a detailed log of which specific images and/or preferences are being synchronized.

3. When the synchronization halts, you should see an indicator in the details log that will tell you which image file halted the synchronization process.

4. Once you have the image file name, try deleting it from the image bar in AM Pro. Repeat this process until all images are synchronized.

You may upload the image(s) that were halting synchronization directly to our website using the Image Hosting page, and then reimport them into SM Pro after they are online. This way, those particular images will not need to go through the synchronization process.

There are several reasons why an image file may halt synchronization, but most commonly it is due to excessive image size, invalid image format, or corrupted image data. You might also want to check the security level on your browser, anti-virus software, and/or firewall software, as these can prevent image downloads as well.

If the above solutions do not help, here are some additional steps that may solve the problem:

- Go to your AuctionWatch folder on your hard drive (default location is My Computer -> C -> Program Files -> AuctionWatch.)

- Check both the "Images" and "Thumbs" folders, and if the image file(s) are still in either folder, delete them manually.

- Restart SM Pro after doing this, and try synching again.

If this doesn't do the trick, try deleting the images.map folder from the data folder in the AuctionWatch directory, and resynch.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us again if you need further assistance.

Hello,
I have this same problem. I tried all of the suggestions listed and I still can't get it to work. None of my images should be corrupt, they worked when I was using AMpro on my old computer.

I'm using WindowsXP Professional with 1.25 GHZ of Ram.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi cooldistro,

Click the details button and let us know what it says. If it refers to a specific image, delete it per the directions above and try again.

Christopher,
Here are the last few lines before it froze up:

Start updating images.
Downloading image '032.jpg'.
Saving image '032.jpg' locally.

Then it completely shut down.

Deleting that specific image should not make a difference as I have done that with other images. Also, if I bypass the synchronization at start-up and try to add pictures from my computer to AMPro the program immediatly shuts down, so it's not just a synchronization issue.

Also, I have tried uninstalling AMPro and restarting and reinstalling with the same results.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

So when you say you are having the same issue, you didnt mean the exact same issue with getting an Synchronization Failed message and a note to check your images, rather yours is just plane freezing up when you try to synch, correct?

That would be a 100% different issue relating to system resources, and nothing to do with images. You are right, dont bother with deleting the images or uploading them elsewhere. Instead, close out of everything you have running except pro, including anything you have running in the background, and then try to do a synch.

Also, are you getting any error messages at all, or do you have to end task on the program to exit?

Hello,
Sorry about the confusion. It fails when it gets to the images during synch. and it fails when I try to add an image (without synch-ing).

The error message I get is "SMPro has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and then it ask if I want to send an error report to Microsoft.

The program just closes instanly after I click "Don't send" [the error report].

If I try adding a picture to AMPro the program instantly quits without any error message.

thanks

Hello,

Does the same type of failure happen when saving a batch to disk, for instance? Or is it just about adding images (either directly to Pro, or during synch)?

It saves batches fine. It only happens when I try to add images (either downloading them or adding manually).
Thanks

Hello,

Please remove the "Images.map" file from the data folder of your SMPro installation; then restart the program.

If you are still having problems afterwards, please try the following trick too: using Windows Explorer, copy a new image directly to the images folder of your SMPro installation; then start the program. Please let us know if the program loads properly, and the new image was added to the SMPro Image Bar.

Thanks,

-Radu
