Hello again

I have lost the link you sent me for the download of the old SMPro. Please resend it and give me instructions on removing 5 so that all of my photos and inventory are not removed.

Thank you
Paula

Hi Paula,

http://www.auctionwatch.com/my/client/v4.2/ampro.exe

The above URL is where you can download the old version. The files you need from your existing copy are the 'inv.dat' - in the Data folder in the Vendio directory, the whole 'Batches' folder found within the Vendio directory and the 'Images' folder also in the same directory.

Move/Copy those files and folders to a safe location, then uninstall the program from Add/Remove, download the old version and run through the install. Once the old version is installed, copy those files and folders over into the new directory created.

Regards,
Christopher

why do you want the old version instead of new sales pro ?

(reason i am asking is i find sales pro very ! slow.. can't have multiple programs running in background.. and can't open multiple batch items at one time )

are you having troubles too ?

i was going to try to uninstall and reinstall the new program?

was thinking maybe it was my computer, millenium, or my ram....my memory is great
thanks for advise

HI
Well, I have a Gig of memory and tons of hard drive space and I am running XP.
I didn't experience that type of problem but I did have problems loading inventory. It was so cumbersome that I went back to the old version.
I can tell you that I prefer 5 but if I have to load things more than once, it really isn't worth my time and I will just watch as new features are added and hope they change their mind!

I love the auto relist but it is not worth my time to have to screw with inventory editting and adding pics and stuff I will have to sacrifice the luxury of auto relist....

I too am returning to the old version

and yep, can't have any other program running either here and I have scads of memory.

Of course, I got into the habit of only having AW running back in the old days of old computors with minimal memory when I first started with AW....their program has always been a memory hog. <grin>

Hi
Maybe it is an operating system problem? I can tell you that if you are running Me the problem is not SMP! Me leaks memory big time. 98 second edition should be fairly OK but I don't recall it being able to handle a gig of memory.

If you are running anything other than ?XP, you might want to enlarge your cache and your virtual memory, too. It might help.

Once you have uploaded to your inventory and store with the old version, you can go in on line and use the auto re-list or you can launch the auctions, go to active auctions, select all and click on set auto re-list and it will take you to a screen that will set the auto re-list on. This one is actually the easiest way.

I am still hoping that they well sync the inventory on line and off. For retail stores and on line stores, inventory is the most critical and most ignored section of the retail business. Inventory management needs to be the #1 priority in all retail situations, including SMP!

just my 2 cents...
