Help Please!

I just opened an old batch. It contains items that I have just got in stock again. I edited several files and clicked finish.

I wanted to create a new batch after that batch was converted.

Nothing happens when I click finish... nothing. I repeated the process 3 times and nothing happens.

Please help. Thank you

Paula

Hello Paula,

Try going to 'File+Save' and resave the batch into your folder, then open it and try doing the conversion again. Or just double click on it and check to see if it has already been converted for you and just is not giving you a confirmation when you hit finish.

Let us know the results of your efforts.

Regards,
Christopher

Hi Christopher
Save and Save as are not a option. Those commands are grayed out.
I checked the file by opening it andit is still in the converter.

I tried to drag & drop and Copy & paste to no avail.

I played with various batches from 2001 to present befor I converted to 5.1. Here are the results.

1. Most batches-even the really old ones-brought up a screen that read:
Please address the following issues:
Title: blah, blah
Images not available: blah, blah
I clicked ok and was presented with a batch file that could be saved.

2. The highlighted records cannot be validated. Double click on each record and validate it manually. To leave out these records select the checkbox below.

**the checkbox they are refering to is: Do not open unvalidated records. (this sentence suggests that it is possible to convert the batch with unvalidated files)

A) If you choose this option, you go to a batch file that can be saved. It contains only the validated files. i.e. images, category & launch time set.

B) If you only validate a few files and do not click the box that reads: **the checkbox they are refering to is: Do not open unvalidated records. Nothing happens when you click finish.

Maybe this is how it was designed to work?

Thanks
Paula

Hi Paula,

Do you want the unvalidated records to be converted or do you mind leaving them out? Please explain what it is you are trying to do with that batch.

Regards,

Sonya

Ok, let's see if I can be clearer.

I carry two items year round... caftans and swimsuits. Each one is different in style or color or maybe the same as one that sold long ago.

I just received new stock of both of these.

I want to open the old batch and reuse the description, etc. of some of the old items to relist.

In many of the old batch files, I can open them and drag and drop them into a new batch file but not this particular batch file.

I cannot validate manually or save or save as or drag and drop or copy or cut or anything. When I do make changes and click finish hoping I can re-open and use what I have changed... nothing happens.

I would be happy to send you this batch file to look at if you like.

Thank you
Paula

Hi Paula,

Yes, actually can you send me the batch? I would like to try and extract these items for you. Send it to [email protected] and let me know the names of the ones you want me to get.

Sonya

Hi Paula,

Good news, I was able to salvage the items in the batch for you. The trouble was, they were previously scheduled for a future launch date and all the categories were no longer valid. You had to open each one, pick a category, and change the launch. What I did was put them in the General category (#14111) and select "Next Upload" for launch so when you get the batch from me, you can go in and change all of that.

Let us know if you run into any more trouble with this.

Regards,

Sonya

WOW! Thank you!

Ok, I know what I was doing wrong... you need to correct all the listings before clicking finish.

I will work on them first thing in the morning.

Again, Thank you so much!
Paula

Hi Paula,

One more thing I forgot to add -- the other issue I noticed was the gallery image was not valid for some items. I am assuming these are images that were no longer available so for those, I just went ahead and selected to not put the item in the gallery. If you should have to go through this process again for another old batch, just make sure that you correct any fields in red.

Regards,

Sonya
