I just upgraded my SMPro from 5.0 to 5.1 with the auto update. I haven't used it in a while. SMPro is still installed in my old Auctionwatch directory.
When trying to do a couple of things I get the following error that prevents me from performing that action.
"SMPro is unable to execute this operation"
"To continue, please save your work, close other programs or restart SMPro, and try the command again."
This happens when trying to validate a highlighted item in one of my batches during batch conversion (although I was able to validate and convert items in other batches).
More importantly I get this error when I try to create a new listing item in a batch when either clicking the 'new listing' button or dropping an inventory item into the batch window. Thus this is preventing me from being able to create any new auction listings at all with SMPro 5.1 I did not have any of these problems before upgrading.
I also tried doing a clean install of SMPro 5.1 a second time into the default Vendio directory (carried over my batch and inventory files) and I still get the same errors no matter which installation I try using.
Please any clues on how to correct this so I can actually use SMPro.

I am having a identical problem and have been for 2 WEEKS! No resolution from Vendio yet. I've done everything on my end.

Well at least I know now that it is not just me. But still I am upset that by SMPro forcing me to upgrade to new version, it has rendered me unable to create the new auction and store items that I want to.
Why is it that we are having this problem when others are using 5.1 fine? And it is from either auto upgrade or fresh install from a download. Makes no sense to me.
Anyone at Vendio have an idea on this problem? I'm figuring now that more people are experiencing this problem.
Please be sure to select "save to disk" when downloading. Before you begin the install process, please be sure to close any applications that might be running on your system.
I did as you said and it was still giving me the error. So I started closing programs running in the background one at a time again to see if there was something causing a conflict.
I believe I found the cause of the problem. I had the AOL Tray Icon running in my system tray for use with AOL. I normally disable this but just upgraded to new version of AOL and had not disabled the icon yet. Once I disabled the AOL Tray Icon my copy of SMPro 5.1 started working fine.
So as it turns out there was no problems with installation at all. SMPro was just conflicting with something else running at the same time.
So, if others are having this error problem and you are using AOL, try disabling the AOL Tray Icon and SMPro might start working for you also. If not using AOL, try closing programs running in the background one at a time until you find that SMPro works, then take action to remove or at least disable that program while using SMPro.
