Hi
I have received 6 of the following messages over the weekend for auction #2874765896; 2874983454; 2875317412; 2875317395 (these first 4 seem to be OK, as I just checked them 2875317390 9 AM; 2875317390 12:30 PM after I fixed it in the morning. I also fixed the others and there still isn't a gallery image. You can check the auctions and see they say revised.

Thank you for choosing to be part of eBay's Gallery! Unfortunately, your item
#2875317390
New! Plus Size Tube Neck Caftan & Scarf 1X-5X
has not yet been added to the gallery.
The problem is:
The Web server where we looked for your image says that it can't find the image:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/0000003d/pgmeunier/61a3.jpg
"
Check your image URL to make sure that it is correct.
You can correct your URL at:

Thank you for using eBay!

In this auction #2874765896 there is a sign that says: sorry, this picture in not available. Please check back.
In this auction there was no gallery picture #2874983473. I just added it again. I know I put a gallery image on this (most of the time I am not sure if I made the error or just messed up) however, I know that this had a gallery image and when it got to eBay it was gone!
Any thoughts about what is going on? I am copying this to eBay power sellers support. I have almost 400 auctions running right now and it is very frustrating to have to waste time on this instead of launching more auctions.

Hello Paula,
I just checked this item:
Pristine Feathered '20s Cloche? '60s Derby? 6
I copied the active listing to pending, and in checking the Gallery preferences I see that an image is selected from the gallery menu, however, the "No Gallery Image" option is checked. Are you certain that the gallery option was checked? The image you select from the menu will only be applied if you check the Gallery option as well.

Hi Diana
I apologize for the delay! Lots of shipping to do lately, which is a really good thing!
Yes, the Gallery image was selected. Honest.
Here is what I must do because of the changes to pro.
1-Import a text file tab delimited
2-I drag items to a batch
3-I save the batch
4-I open each item in the batch and add photos; the launch date and time; click the gallery image and do item specifics. (In this case you will note that the gallery photo does not appear in the auction. That is how I am positive that the gallery choice was selected. I had to specifically select that image because I knew when it was saved to inventory I would loose it as it was the 5th photo.)
5-I upload
6-I go to pending and cancel the auctions I just uploaded.
7-I go into each auction and double check everything; add to inventory and my store.
8-I then delete the original up loaded item.
I just checked my inventory item and no gallery image is selected there yet the photo is selected. This photo cannot be selected in an item in a batch on pro UNLESS you select a gallery image. It is grayed out.
To double check, I will post this and then check my batch and let you know what I find.

Hello,
So after you get the item to your inventory you notice that while an image is chosen the gallery option is not? Please let me know if this is correct as we may need to forward this on to Product Development.

hello again
No, I don't notice it at all because once they are in inventory I launch and then I get an email from ebay telling me they can't locate the image at Vendio...
I went in and changed the item, mentioned previously in this post, twice and received the same message from eBay.
This is a vendio problem, not eBay as I have already corresponded with them and have troubleshot the problem as much as I am able.
That is why I provided so much detailed information in previous post here.

Hello,
I have tested this and my items go into inventory with the gallery image attached. If you are regularly having a problem where that is not transferring over please give us some more examples to work with.
Regarding the problem that started the thread -- I found the image that ebay says it could not find in your Recycle Bin. This is why it did not take the gallery image that was submitted. If you have more emails like this from eBay, please check your recycle bin to see if the images were deleted.

This problem has only happened in the last 3 weeks... the recycle bin? At the risk of sounding stupid, I didn't know I had a recycle bin. Where is it?
But that brings up the question of why it was there? This particular image had expired and I had to re-upload it so it was there.
Additionally, it only occures with maybe 1% of the items launched.
Regarding the problem with re-listing in another thread. If you go to post sale, unsold items folder, the first 4 itms are the ones I have changed and saved several times. Be my guest and play with them.
Thank you
Paula

Hi Sonya
I just received another message for auction #2877068873 Vintage! Felt Cartwheel 1940s Hat
The problem is:
The Web server where we looked for your image says that it can't find the image:
http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/pgmeunier/c11110.JPG
This item is a re-list and the gallery picture was active on the last auction.

Hi Paula,
The recylce bin is in Image Hosting. The link to it is on your left. You can bring back images that were deleted from your account -- then if you resubmit them to eBay for those particular items they should go into the gallery. When images expire or get deleted they go to the recycle bin for 2 weeks, before they are permanently deleted. It is a feature we introduced so that customers can bring back images they did not mean to have deleted.
I have been playing with the four you referenced and have not gotten the message you have been getting, about selecting an item. Does your browser hang, or slow down when loading these items?
posted on December 13, 2003 05:02:45 PM new
Things do slow down but not crash... could that be the problem. Explorer has given me several messages this morning that "the site could not be found"
I wish ms would fix all the problems but xp is the best system so far. rarely crashes.
mayve explorer is the problem?
Thank you for the information on the recycle bin. I'll be sure to tell my class about that!
So if I restore the image, will eBay pick it up?
Thank you
Paula

Hello,
You are going to need to resubmit the photo to eBay after you restore it. They provide you the link to do it in the email that you were sent, stating the image was rejected.
I wasn't aware you didn't know about the recycle bin -- it will be very useful to you if you accidentally delete an image.
You could always try reinstalling your browser however I am sure that is probably a hassle. The next time you get the error, you can try relisting on an alternate browser to further determine if the problem really is with Explorer.

Hello again
Ok, not to sound dumb again... if the path is correct in the URL box on eBay, why would you have to resubmit? the path and file name would still be the same. Wouldn't it?
I just reinstalled windows a couple of weeks ago and it took 3 days to get everything right but... XP wouldn't let me install Netscape. I think I will try again in a week or two. Are there any other browsers out there that are any good? I don't keep up on that stuff anymore.
