I'm considering coming back to Vendio from Andale. I can't do it if I can't print postage automatically or at least semi-automatically though. Is the only option for postage still just entering everything in manually at some place like Stamps.com or is there integration somewhere that I'm missing?
You still have to enter it in to Stamps.com, unfortunately. What we do have new is an Export Shipping feature that allows you to export your shipping information to UPS Worldwide and Endicia's Dazzle. If you were interested in this feature you can find it under Post Sale.

Bonus point for quick response.
Bonus point for having export set up in an intuitive place.
Minus one point for the ridiculous number of steps it takes to set up UPS shipping, but Andale also loses on that point.
Bonus point for having better looking software than Andale.
You win, but I will expect better integration of shipping and other post-sale experiences into your offline software soon or I'll be heading back to Andale, even though they have a lot of problems.

Sonya, one other question:
eBay has a built in UPS shipping calculator. Vendio has a built in USPS shipping calculator, but not one for UPS. Is it possible to use eBay's shipping calculator to provide UPS shipping prices for auction items through Vendio?

Hello Daniel,
At this time, you cannot use eBay's shipping calculator to provide UPS shipping prices for auction items through Vendio. We do however hope to offer support for this further down the road as we update the post sale management tools.

Before you make a change, I would really take a good look at the problems with USPS Dazzle integration with Vendio. As of right now, postage is printed in a batch form, with no room to make any changes. As far as I can tell the entire process is a bust. I have tried to get Vendio to look at this process and make changes, but to no avail.

I haven't switched, but I continue to be frustrated with Andale, their apparent lack of concern for their customers and the quality of their programs. They don't seem to be interested in fixing bugs or creating quality software to begin with. It seems to be frustration after frustration and I don't know who can provide the same type of services they offer with less aggravation. I need UPS integration, USPS integration, and offline post-sale.

I have been using the Dazzle export/import feature since Aug, 2003. At best, it is an akward process that involves way too many steps. Each export becomes a dbf file and you'll find yourself hunting for a name in several files. If you use all four shipping options, be aware that only the first 2 export.
I have a store front with another service which provides direct integration with Endicia-it works beautifully and in a quarter of the time in takes in Vendio. Alas, their auction tools, although very powerful, are not very stable.
