Hi
I had a buyer request a swimsuit be auctioned again. I complied and told him he could have it for the Buy It Now price.
I launched the swimsuit and he bought it.
Then he wrote me this:
"You can post it for $39.99 just as it was before, but do you mind if I pay $37.00 via PayPal (immediately of course) when I "Buy It Now"? PayPal allows up to a $2.99 credit deduction when arranging payment to a seller for situations just like this. Let me know, and I will be watching for it. In fact, send the Item number when you reply to this, and I will scoop it right up. "
He edited the amount somewhere but I have no idea where as it doesn't show in PayPal.
I don't know where he edited it but he did and PayPal doesn't seem to have any info on it so could it have happened here?
There is that coupon place... but wouldn't you have to sign up for it.
I realize this is a PayPal thing but I thought someone might know about this.
Thanks for any help you might have!

PS I realize we are only talking $3 here but if your profit is only $10... they discounted themselves 1/3 of my profit!

Hi Paula,
The buyer should not be able to edit the payment amount when checking out from Vendio, so I'm not sure where he's doing this. Do you see the payment at all on Paypal?

Hi Diana
I spoke with PayPal support and they had no idea what he was talking about.
They looked at the transaction and it said the price was $36.99. So what he did is simply say that that is what the ending price of the auction was. I tried to get more information when I refunded the money but he never responded to the questions. He said he was just trying a gift for his wife. I have no idea what he was talking about. He seemed honest enough. Maybe he misread something?
I have no clue and neither does anyone I have communicated with.
I appreciate your response. Maybe one of Vendio's users will post something to enlighten me and you!

Paula, I have had clients do the same thing before (it was a special shipping arrangement) but it is part of the Ebay checkout process. Did your client use that instead of Vendio? Below is what I have copied from Paypal's FAQ section.
What is the 'Other Discounts and Charges' field in eBay's checkout flow?
This field allows you to enter discounts or charges that may not be related to shipping, insurance, or tax. For example, sellers may offer discounts on multiple purchases or charge fees for gift wrapping.
