OK....it just now popped up from nowhere. This was 13 minutes after I opened it. I guess it was trying to do something in background.

SM Pro does a check on the "images" folder when starting, in order to verify whether new images have been added there for uploading to the Vendio site. If you have many images, this process might take some time; a progress bar is shown during that interval.
This check existed in the past versions too. Please let us know whether you have noticed something different about SM Pro 6.0, or you feel that the process is longer than before.

It is definitely taking much longer (as much as twice the time) to load. Would it go faster if I deleted the images in the SMPro file on my computer?

I have posted in the other SMPro 6 thread, but just in case you did not check there yet -- we are working on a fix that will make the opening of Pro easier for you, since you both have a large number of images. We will post more when we have more information, as we are testing this right now.

The process at startup is MUCH slower than before. The scan verification with the load bar is the same, but the wait time is at least 5-10 times longer for my scans. It is obvious that things that were done in prior versions later are now being done before initial loading is complete. I now turn it on and go do something else for 10 minutes before I go back to use it. I am not happy with this and people who have thousands of scans like me should be told that they must wait much longer at startup. Time savings are evident once it opens but I question the real time savings given the extremely slow startup. Other features are still not robust, especially importing. "Store categories" is still not enabled and errors when importing listings from local files to SMP. The result is that the software slows to a crawl after 50 or so loads then crashes and burns. This is due to its inability to handle multiple errored listings. If you fix category this will go away. This is a simple software patch. Why isn't this fixed. Chuck

Hi everyone. We are working on a solution to the images initialization problem now, and may have more information by early next week. In the meantime, you should be able to work around the problem by taking the following steps:
1. Go to the Vendio (or AuctionWatch) directory – default location is C:\Program Files\Vendio (or AuctionWatch)
2. Click and drag the images and thumbs folders into a backup folder (or just your desktop.) This will remove all images from SM Pro.
3. When you open the program next, the images and thumbs folders will be recreated as empty folders. You should have no problem opening SM Pro at this point.
4. Re-import only the images that you are going to be attaching to the listings you are uploading. Attach the images to your listings.
5. Click the Preferences icon in Sales Manager Pro in the left toolbar. In the Image Synchronization section, check off the following two options:
-Upload images only as required in batches
-Do not download Standard Images from Vendio Image Hosting.
6. Make sure you save your changes. At next synchronization, only the images that you have attached to your listings will be uploaded, and images that exist online will not be synched down.
I hope this workaround will help resolve this issue. Please let us know if you have any trouble with it.
Can you tell us where you are experiencing slowness with SM Pro? What are you having trouble with - opening the application, opening batches, synchronizing?
Please provide a little more detail and we'll do our best to help.
