I\'m completely lost. When I downloaded the second SMPro for the new email address it took over everything. All the icons now open to the new email name. I can't open the one that must be the old one it has an error: run error 32811 application defined or object defined error. Even the icons that have properties created January 01 when I first started selling under the original email ID now say the new email ID on the inside. The same batches are in all of them from the original. But no photos are in any of them.

Someone said to delete the first one and reinstall but I can\'t tell what to delete. I have icons on short cut, on desktop, on the Start popup and in the computer area, they all have a different date. There are also two with the startup red box on desktop that I thought would disappear once I opened & installed the new one. I seem to have many installed versions and don\'t know where they came from. I\'ve only used one in the past that now won\'t open. I don\'t know where to start and don\'t want to do more damage. I need to somehow reactivate the one with the photos in it as the photos are missing in all the batches.

The batches are also all locked up in the convert mode so I can\'t launch any of them.

Hello,

You cannot run two different versions of Pro on your computer -- hence the run time error you were getting. If you still have the install kit for Pro, you can install it for your other email address -- just make sure you point it to the directory where it is listed so you don't install it in the same directory as the new account. After you install it, before you open it, give it a unique name so that it opens for that ID instead of your new one. If you don't change the name (something like Vendio2 will do) then it will open up your new one.

Let us know if you have any trouble with this.

Regards,

Sonya

The first one has been upgraded whenever the popup appears to do so. So I'm assuming they are the same version. When I downloaded the second, following Chris' email directions I called it by the email ID of the second one. At this point I don't know enough to recognize what to uninstall to start over. Though I gave it a new name all the icons say AWPro or SMPro and can only identify by opening the properties. When I try to relabel them it gives a popup that changing the name will effect everyone who uses this computer??????? Have no idea what that means or what it will effect so I didn't change. No one else uses it. I have two shortcuts though that I know one is new & one is the old that won't open. I don't know what I did wrong.

Any way to get the pictures to go to the new account SMPro? The batches are in there but they are all locked up with convert batch and have no pictures attached to them and none below in the file. There should be a way to unlock the convert batch so we can delete those we don't want to fix and only fix the ones we need to launch.

Hello,

I'm looking into this right now -- I've forwarded it to one of our engineers for additional assistance.

You can probably copy your images from the old Pro into the new one for now. Just locate the images folders in both of your Pros, to accomplish this. Let me know if you have trouble.

Sonya

Hi Sonya,

When I downloaded the upgrade to my primary account I WAS in that email location. I checked preferences before I downloaded and there is still cross over from the second account. I should not be signed in under one ID - on the sales manager tab - and switch over to the other ID by just going to - the my account - tab.

I went through isolating each ID and email when I downloaded the last upgrade and was very careful to be specific this time. But the identities have seemed to have merged.

Hi larrkpoodle,

If you are using two installations of SM Pro, they must both be the same version. No auto-update has been released yet for SM Pro version 5.5, so your original version has not been updated unless you've taken the steps to actually install SM Pro 6.0 into the directory where the original version is saved. Please try doing this before you proceed any further, and let us know if the problem continues.

greglyn - I'm assuming you are the same user?

Thanks,

Diana

(No, greglyn is another person with same problem)

They are the same version. No matter how I installed they all took over the new ID. I finally opened one Pro and under "change email?" & changed it to the old email ID and all the photos & batches started to load onto it. Then I deleted the old original one that was erroring. So I now have my original Pro ID back.

I then installed a few more times from the kit to get the second Pro. I never know what file to choose, I don't recognize any of them. Anyway I have a second one (and many more) now, but in the file folder icon where the batches usually are and should be blank at this point, is a big list of all the temporary files.

"just make sure you point it to the directory where it is listed."

...How would I know where it is listed nothing looks familiar, what does point it mean? Once I chose a file that said AWPro but that resulted in more of the same mistakes.

"You can probably copy your images from the old Pro into the new one for now. Just locate the images folders in both of your Pros, to accomplish this. Let me know if you have trouble

...I have no idea what that means, what image folder, what would I do with them if I happened to locate them?

Several people said put the original batches from the first Pro into the new Pro by emailing them to myself but no one says what to do with them then. I've tried dragging them into the open 2nd Pro but they won't stay, and the whole page is taken up by temporary files list. I can't get rid of the list of files instead of batches and I can't get the photos & batches to duplicate onto the second Pro.

Very frustrating, I've wasted a week I could have been listing. How about a reference of directions for this procedure with pictures of what screen looks like, on the Vendio website. I can't be the only one wanting more than one Pro installed. Everyone gives half directions that leaves each procedure hanging.

Someone said they have 5 different ones but didn't do the install themselves. I can't imagine what that took.

OK I kept installing SMPro until I somehow chose a file where the temp files were not showing up in the batch file folder.

Then I tried every way I could think of to get the batches into that new Pro. Putting them on the desktop errored out when I tried to drag & drop.

First I went to the original Pro opened the batch file, highlighted them all and emailed to myself. I then opened the resulting attachment and with it open, opened the second Pro and its batch file. Minimized the batch screen and dragged each batch over from the email attachment to the 2nd batch file & dropped it in.

I still think this could all be explained in plain English in an information file on Vendio website.

The only problem left is getting all the photos from online in the original email address "manage photos" page into the new email address SMPro offline. Then I can start launching auctions.

Hello,

Maybe we should start at the beginning. Uninstall any Pros you have on your computer right now. Then double click the install kit to install the program into separate locations. The first copy is installed into "C : \Program Files\Vendio" folder by default (or the AuctionWatch folder if your previous versions were pointed into the AuctionWatch directory folder in Program files). You will need to create a unique file folder for each additional copy that is to be installed. You may create these folders wherever you like on your hard drive, but be sure to name the files so that you will be able to easily locate them ("C : \Program Files\Vendio2" is an example.)

Next, run the installer for Sales Manager Pro, when the prompt comes up asking you where to install, select and install to default ("C : \Program Files\Vendio" ).

After this is done, run the installer again, and install it to the alternate folders you have created (such as the example "C : \Program Files\Vendio2".) As you do this, you will need to choose a different name for the Program Group for each installation (for instance, you may choose to use the eBay ID that will be associated with that installation.)

After you have installed the separate copies of SM Pro, you should have a matching Vendio icon on your desktop. You should probably rename them with your eBay ID so that you will be able to differentiate them. Do this before you open any of the Pros.

When you've finished with the above steps, try synchronizing each Pro to each account you have. If it is successful, please let me know and we will move on to getting your old batches in with the new Pro.

Regards,

Sonya

It is all solved by drag & drop except I cannot get the photos into the second Pro after trying many things.

Hello,

What have you tried so far? It should be fixed once you locate the images folder all your images are in, and the images folder that is under the Pro directory you want them to go to -- moving them from one folder to the other should work. If you synchronize both Pros it will also download the images from online, if you keep having trouble with this.

Sonya

After nothing suggested worked, I started by clicking on the actual list of photos in the open Pro at the bottom and get an "add image" choice. I bypassed the individual photos in my file and went to the folder you spoke of labeled with the 2nd ID and highlighted all of them, clicked open (as when adding one to email) and for the next 54 minutes it loaded them all and kept them.

Now if you could just get rid of that blasted Convert Batch where I have to correct each listing before it will open. I need to delete a lot and if not for it being locked in convert batch I could just quickly launch the ones I need. The fix request should come at the point of launching, not managing them. It looks like the only problem is the template. I renamed it so I could find it again and it didn't become a default but created a question in each auction.

Hello,

In the Convert Batch window, there is a check box named "Do not open unvalidated records". If you check it, you'll need to update and validate only those listings that you are still planning to use.

Thanks,
