Hi, I am experimenting with Sales Manager Pro and so far I really like the ease of creating inventory items. I have been dragging and dropping inventory items from the inventory list into a batch to upload. It takes me to a screen where I can schedule the listing time, etc. however I am forced to manually select the region for the item location on each item I list. I can't find out where to set my region in my preferences so I don't have to do this every time. I see where to set city and state, but not the general region.

Additionally, I am forced to select a gallery image on each item. Is there a setting where I can have it default to the first image attached to the listing so I don't have to do this step manually? I see that I can choose the corner image eBay displays to default to the first image attached, so how can I do the same thing for the gallery?

Finally, I am wondering if I have multiple inventory items that I want to schedule at the same time if I can select all of them in one drag and drop and schedule them to launch at the same time? Right now it seems that even if I drag the items together, I have to manually schedule each item for the time I want it to list rather than doing a group of say 3-5 different items being scheduled for the same time period.

Please let me know if there are faster ways to do any of these tasks.

Thanks,
Jonathan

One other thing I am wondering about is if inventory is automatically reduced when items are moved to a batch?

Right now all of the inventory items I had were set at a quantity of 1 before I added them to a batch and uploaded them, and they are still set at a quantity of 1 available even though they are in my pending eBay launches.

This could get confusing and create the potential to oversell my inventory.

Will the available quantities be automatically be reduced when the item actually gets listed on eBay? If not, is there a way I can set this to take place?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

I'll try to address your questions in order:

>I have been dragging and dropping inventory >items from the inventory list into a batch >to upload. It takes me to a screen where I >can schedule the listing time, etc. however >I am forced to manually select the region >for the item location on each item I list. >I can't find out where to set my region in >my preferences so I don't have to do this >every time. I see where to set city and >tate, but not the general region.

When you create an inventory item, you have the opportunity to apply a profile. If you click Edit -> Profile Manager, then double-click on one of the profiles, you'll see the region is available to be changed. If you save the profile with your region, you can then apply it as you create your inventory items. This should eliminate the need to set it for all of your inventory items.

>I am forced to select a gallery image on >each item. Is there a setting where I can >have it default to the first image attached >to the listing so I don't have to do this >step manually? I see that I can choose the >corner image eBay displays to default to >the first image attached, so how can I do >the same thing for the gallery?

Unfortunately, there's no preference in SM Pro that will automatically apply the first image in the listing as your Gallery image. These do need to be selected manually at this time (but I'm happy to pass along your feedback. )

>I am wondering if I have multiple inventory >items that I want to schedule at the same >time if I can select all of them in one >drag and drop and schedule them to launch >at the same time? Right now it seems that >even if I drag the items together, I have >to manually schedule each item for the time >I want it to list rather than doing a group >of say 3-5 different items being scheduled >for the same time period.

Once you've dragged your inventory items into a batch, you can bulk-schedule the batch items by highlighting them and then clicking the "Edit" button on the bottom of the screen. You'll see the schedule section on the righthand side of the launch screen.

>Right now all of the inventory items I had >were set at a quantity of 1 before I added >them to a batch and uploaded them, and they >are still set at a quantity of 1 available >even though they are in my pending eBay >launches.

The inventory module of SM Pro does not automatically track quantity available. This is something you would need to update manually. If you need round-trip inventory functionality, you might want to consider using online rather than offline inventory, as online inventory does track quantity adjustments automatically.

I hope this answers your questions. Let us know if you have any others.

Thanks!

Diana

DO NOT Trust the inventory system. It is not accurate. You need to keep track separately of what you have listed on e-bay. I have oversold inventory several times due to problems in their system. BEWARE!!! If you use the relist, it does not take it from your inventory.

Hello prof2,

If you relist an item on eBay directly, it will "disconnect" that item from our system - which means that our inventory will not be able to detect any changes made. To avoid this, we would recommend relisting on Vendio rather than eBay.

Thanks,

Diana
