Several weeks ago when I upgraded SMPro to 6.0 I had to re-do the item specifics for all my Military & War items. ebay had made changes to that category sometime prior to my upgrading to 6.0, and I made all the revisions then. I made the revisions again (60-70 items) without grumbling but without giving it much thought otherwise. The revision was the same for every item: the subcategory was blank.

Yesterday I upgraded SMpro to the 6.02 release. Once again I had to revise the inventory items and the batch items in Military and War. Same error, the sub-category is blank. After revising these 60-70 items I launched them all to my ebay store. 50 of them are stuck in Pending and in each one the sub-category is blank.

Below is the error message associated with these items:
Error 5028: Invalid Value. (1388:23715)
Value given for "Sub-Category" is invalid.
Note: this error may be related to the Item Specifics content you entered. Please review content in 'other' fields in the Item Specifics section for validity and number of characters.

It looks as though this is an internal Vendio-caused error and it needs to be fixed. If it is ebay-originated, you guys need to report it so that it can get fixed.

Meanwhile I am going to once again revise these pending items so that they will launch to my store.

If you are receiving the 5028 error, please check the following:

1. If you are specifying a value in an "Other" text field, please try eliminating this by selecting " - " instead of "Other".
2. If you have selected a pattern from a selection in a drop-menu, please try eliminating this by selecting " - " instead of the pattern.
3. If you are entering a value in a custom field, please try using one of the pre-defined values instead (for example, in the case of size, use the pre-defined value of M, L, XL, etc. instead of entering the size in the custom field.) Once the listing is live, you should be able to revise it and enter the custom value.

Darin, you completely misunderstood my post. It is the sub-category, not the sub-sub that is blank.

Main category: Military & War
Sub-Category: WWI

It is the value in the sub-category field that is blank

Hello,

Most of your items are scheduled for launch, so if these error out and they are part of the batch you were referring to, please save one with the error intact and notify us that it is there. Error 5028 in your case means item specifics or sub categories have changed. Once we have an example to view we'll be able to check into it further.

Regards,

Sonya

There are 3 items stuck in pending now. Two for the error discussed above, the 3rd for another reason that it also needs to be looked into by Vendio folks.

Thanks

The third errored auction you should be have no trouble launching. This type of error %API% usually means one of the eBay or Vendio servers had trouble communicating.

The other two listings need edits. The sub-category is blank but there may be other issues with the item's specfics. I'd suggest setting up a similar auction (as the errored pair) from scratch to see if this item errors as well. Sometimes the relisted items carry over old attributes and item specific details that eBay no longer accepts.

I refer you to my original post. This problem is not limited to launching these items to ebay. I fact, it started sometime back when ebay was making a lot of changes to the categories with item specifics. At that time I blamed it on ebay, and I went item by item and made the necessary changes. In every case, with no exception, the problem was that Subject 2 was blank when it used to be WWI or WWII. Agin, I revised my items, batches, items in pending at the time.

Than I updated to SmPro 6.02. The same items errored - same error, subject 2 is blank. This time ebay did not make any changes to items specifics. Something tells me that this is your problem and you need to send it to your tech dept to get it fixed.

I've tried changing the category to the one you are using and launching the error.

Now it says : "Error 121: Account balance at eBay has exceeded the limit.
You will be unable to complete this request until payment is made to eBay or a credit card is put on file for automatic monthly billing with eBay."

Try listing this item directly at eBay. When you have that completed, try listing the item titled "Bloody April Black September WWI Air Battles Fighter Ac" as a test to see if your listings are now being accepted.
Best Regards,
