I am having a problem with shipping charges. I normally list my items with a fixed shipping charge, but sometimes I want to charge more for shipping if the item is heavier. The program allows me to type over the "fixed" charge, but when my buyers check out, they are only charged the fixed price. How do I correct this? I am losing money on my shipping charges!

Hello,

In order to change the shipping cost on an active item, go to the Sales Manager and click to view your active listings only.
Next, select the item in question and click the Set WBN button. On the following page, select this item again and click the 'edit WBN' button.

From here you can change the shipping cost originally submitted, and this will be picked up within the Vendio checkout.

Christopher

I'm having a slightly different issue. I normally have default set to one shipping (UPS GROUND) and have unchecked that this week to check the second box, for USPS first class... The check outs and WBN emails are not reflecting ANY postage... ? Will the fix you stated work for me too? What am I doing wrong? I thought that was the point in having check boxes...
Thanks.

Hello,

I viewed a couple that had shipping selections specified. Please let us know the item numbers you have as examples of this problem so we can take a look.

Hello,

I checked the checkouts for all three items and they have two options in there -- one for USPS First Class and one for Optional Insurance. The shipping is showing up, can you explain the problem in more detail?

The above fix would be good for you to use if you need to change shipping and handling for an item that is already active.

Regards,

Sonya

I am sorry, I misspoke about the checkouts. It's the WBNs that are not reflecting any postage. Here is a portion of a WBN

******
Congratulations! You are the winning bidder on eBay item 4924482734 3 Bangle Bracelets Jade & Plastic Green Bakelite? CUTE! for a
closing price of 15.50. Shipping amount is and is also listed in the original auction page, as well as the link provided here.
(If a $0.00 is displayed here, please let me know as it's an error.)

Checks and money orders are accepted as is Paypal.
************
Notice after "Shipping amount is" there is not an amount shown. This is happening with numerous of my auctions where I selected the SECOND postage choice and unchecked the first which I have defaulted to UPS ground.

Hi Angie,

Sorry for the delay. If you go to post sale managemet options in My Account, and scroll to where you can edit those messages, you should see a list of macros to your right. There should be macros in there for shipping -- if you insert these in the WBN message then those macros will grab the shipping info for that item and insert it in the WBNs for your customers. If a macro is not listed, it is not available for use. I hope this helps!

Sonya

Hi Sonya,
OK, great... I see the macros, but it led to another question as I can't see a "real" LIVE shipping in the preview.

Here's what I want to know. Let's say, I typically default to using shipping 1, as UPS ground... but occasionally, I may NOT use Shipping 1 (unchecking that box as I prepare my SMP auctions) and want shipping 2 as USPS first class. Whenever I ship via USPS I check custom 1 and give the option of Insurance.... SO, if I add the macros for shipping 2 and custom 1 to my automated post sale management notices... what will happen when I check and uncheck the boxes? Will it ONLY grab what is checked or will it show multiple shipping prices including $0 for some that I didn't check.... hence confusing the heck out of my customers?

I hope this makes sense... Basically I want it show Shipping 1 when I check shipping 1 and shipping 2 and custom 1 when I check those... so if I add all three macros to the notices.... will that create more confusion?

Thanks!
Angie

Hi there,

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure and I'm not sure there will be anyone here until Monday that will know. This is one of those Vendio trivia questions that needs to be spread around the office

---OR---

you might want to make a test item and buy it from a seperate email address, and see what happens with the WBN, if you need any help with this or need me to make the purchase on Ebay and forward the WBN so you can check it out, please let me know, I'm more then happy to help with this. Sorry I don't know the answer off the top of my head, but I'm hear to help you find out.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you with this.

Thanks!

Bob
