Could you please explain to me HOW you could possibly design a program, brag about adding in automatic save feature and then it doesn't automatically save an editted item......

I lost 25 items today because of this screw up...

Well duh........that is what I get for trusting you guys. I should know better.

Please explain to me when and if you will ever have an automatic save feature.

Hello,

Do you have it enabled? You can turn it on in Preferences under Auto Save.

it is supposed to be turned on, I had already used it numerous times before....just not on an edit......I assumed when I editted an item and clicked ok, it would save the items.

i will go check my preferences and see if it "jumped" off.

ok, now I have a major issue, and I don't think it is your problem, because I don't see anyone else screaming about it.....and a few on here would scream.

I will try to explain this ...it is difficult.

first I click new batch.......

then I open a batch I have called templates......I copy an auction I have made up with the starting price, category, description everything set......

I close templates
I go to new batch and I copy 15 of this auction in there

I name it to save it, no problem

I highlight the first auction and click edit......I fill in the titles and details I want click ok......
all goes fine for a bit, first occurence was about 10 auctions were fine.....

second occurence was 7 auctions then it started....

first time.......I clicked my auction to edit the contents as usual, I have been using this technique for ages, BTW...

I fill in the info, hit spell check, click ok, it closes, I look at the list, the item has moved up the list and REPLACED another previously done item.....so I click the one that is highlighted, there is my previously done auciton showing all info in place....the fresh one not the one it replaced, I click ok, I look no title showing in the line, and the title is still up the list, so I highlight the title showing, hit edit, and there is my just finished auciton info sitting in there with title and everything, like it saved twice.......and the auciton that was n that line is GONE.......bye bye......and when I clicked on the other space where the fresh auciton was, now it is an empty template auciton.

Weird, must have been my error
so I do another paying close attention, same thing only it is down two line from the last auction it erased, again shows like it saved double, go back a second time and the template one is gone....

ok, this is weird, I reboot, start a whole fresh batch, and after 7 auctions saving fine, it starts again.....this is weird......so I close down, reboots
start a fresh batch, click ok at the end, it shows no title showing
I open it, the title is there, all info is there, I click ok, it shows a title

I do another item, click ok, it shows no title for it, I open it, there is all the info I close it, now it is showing no title and neither is the other title, I one the first one, info all gone, second one info all gone, I close that batch and ran a virus scan, clean
I just ran scan disc and defrag yesterday

I have windows 98 SE on this machine.

any ideas where to look first for the problem.

this is a fresh downloaded copy of this program from last week or two weeks ago, I think. Does this have to do with that automatic save feature, it didn't work like this last spring when I used it.
I run no other programs other than operating programs for the computor, nor do I have any other windows open, I am an old timer around here, I know that cannot be done.
