I am working on several different templates. I will use one for selling records, one for postcards and another for lobby cards and movie related.
I would like to have custom text in each template that pertains just to that particular item (return policy, explanation of terms and abbreviations, etc.)
Is there a way to insert item specific information into different templates?
I know I can enter data using the custom boxes but I believe that will show in all my templates regardless of the type.
I want specific data in each different template that will relate to that type product only.
Unfortunately at this time it is not possible to apply custom listing text to certain templates. I will log a suggestion for you regarding this option.
One thing you can do is create basic inventory items for each category of item you are listing in, and include your specific text in the description text box. When you launch from inventory, you can put the auction data before that text in the item description box. I know this solution is not optimal but perhaps it can save you some time.

I appreciate you recommending it as a future enhancement. I'm sure it would be helpful to lots of people. Even boxes like you now have which we could insert into the description and then chose to show it or not in individual templates.
I'm not sure how the inventory thing works. I use SMPRo so I can make the listings offline.
For now, I'm trying to save the info I need into shortkeys and I'll just try to remember (getting too old to remember all this ) to insert it each time before I close out the description.
