When I synchronize, everything goes fine up until it's time to upload images. I get an error message suggesting that maybe my image is too big (it's NOT, it's under 50kb) or in the wrong format (it's a JPEG). When I checked the Vendio website, it suggests that some spyware can interfere with the upload so I should disable the spyware. Does anyone know how to do that?

If you have spyware on your computer you have biger problems then pictures not uploading. Or did you mean anti-spyware software? If your pictures are around 1024x768 size they should be ok, or the 50k size. I have used multiple security (anti-spyware)programs on my computer and can't say I have ever run into this before. Maybe you could try disabling your security software for a moment and try the upload again, if it works it might be interfearing with the process. You may also need to add vendio to your trusted sites in your security program.

Hi there,

If your synchronization is failing, please click the "Details" button as you synch and paste the results here. We do need to know where the synchronization is halting, as there may be an issue with one or more of your images.

Thanks,

Diana

Oops, I meant anti-spyware!. Here's what the details in the synchronization say: Start updating standard images.
Uploading standard image 'ThreePipes.jpg'.
Number of successful listing uploads: 0.
Synchronization failed - Bad response from server
There is a problem with images synchronization.
Please check the sync log, visible after clicking the Details button, to see which image file halted the sync process, then go to www.Vendio.com and check the status of the image.
If its upload failed (which might be due to excessive size, invalid format, or corrupted data), please remove the image from the SMPro Image Bar. "

I tried temporarily disabling the anti-spyware but that hasn't worked. All of my images are between 25-35kb, they are all JPEGs. What's going on?

Hello,

Did you already try removing this one image from Pro and perform a synch?

Even if its the proper size, there may be something about the image specifics thats causing problems with the Pro software.

Try clearing this one image from the Pro software and upload it from the online interface instead, then see if the rest of the synch process is able to complete without error.

Christopher

HI Christopher,

I did try removing this image and performing the synch again but it didn't work. What do you mean by uploading from the online interface?

Hello,

At what point in the sych process did it fail, when you attempted to do so after removing the original offending image?

If it gets caught at the very next image in the list, test that your upload ability isn't currently limited.

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Go to the above webpage and test your speed, both upload and download.

Your download will most likely be fine, but just verify that your upload speed looks ok.

Trying to upload the image online would be another good way to test that.

Just go to the Image Hosting section here in your online Sales Manager and click to upload this same image from here.

If you can upload no problem from the online interface and your upload speed looks good, let us know what step the synch fails now that you have removed the offending image.

Christopher

Hi again Christopher,

1. The sync failed at the very next image.

2. I've tested the download and upload speeds like you suggested: Down is 1671, up is 501.

3. When I go to the Image Hosting page, I cannot find an upload button anywhere. It only gives me choices of watermarks, Zoom, etc. so at this point I am unable to upload like you are suggesting. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

The problem you're experiencing is a result of the restructured Image Hosting pricing that went into effect on 9/30/04. We did not assign an Image Hosting plan to customers (like yourself) who did not have any live images; this step was taken to avoid charges for customers who weren't using Image Hosting.

If you would like to use Image Hosting, click the "Sign up now" button on the Image Hosting page. You may select the lowest level plan if you are more comfortable with that, as the plan will adjust upward if your image storage exceeds the amount of storage allotted to the plan you choose. Remember that all of your Sales Manager and Vendio Stores fees will work to offset the image hosting plan subscription, so you may not be charged additionally for image hosting at all if your Sales Manager usage fees exceed the image hosting plan fees.

Please refer to our pricing page for information on available pricing plans for Image Hosting:

http://www.vendio.com/pricing.html

Be aware that although your plan will adjust upward as you upload images, it will not automatically adjust downward if you delete images. You will need to adjust the plan downward yourself under My Account -> My Service Plans. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Christopher
