Hi, I just had to download the new version of Sales Manager Pro, as my hard drive went bad. I find that I have to specify shipping in order to complete a listing. This does not always work for me, as I don't always know the actual packed weight at the time I launch the auction. I would rather have the option of not specifying shipping. I may not be able to continue to use Vendio if this problem isn't solved. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

We have fixed this bug and the fix should be going out next week -- we will keep you posted. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you cannot wait until next week, please let us know what version you were using before 7.0 (this problem did not exist with other versions) so we can give you the download link.

Regards,

Sonya

I too am having trouble and what a pain it is. I just listed a detailed item and now I can't finish it or upload it until I pack this huge item and get a weight and measurement. I don't even have a box for it yet. But you won't let me list it until I have a weight/measurement! Just leave stuff alone already! I liked it like it was before. And YES it is an inconvenience. We are paying you all for a service so it should be customer friendly.

I'm having the same problem!

I don't use the calculator. I don't quote an exact shipping cost for big or heavy items until I know the zip code.

In each auction, I offer FedEx ground, UPS ground or USPS, whoever has the better rate.

Anymore with all the carrier's rate increases, it's a crapshoot... any of them can be less expensive depending on the weight and distance, and the cost difference is getting to be substantial.

What happens if I launch an auction before the 'fix' and just use zeros like I used to... as the cost? Will it show up as free shipping?

What exact day is this going to be fixed?

I'm at a loss of what to do! Should I cancel my auctions scheduled to start tomorrow night, Sunday Jan 22?

Any help is appreciated!
Lynn

Hi all,

This bug has now been corrected, but you'll need to redownload the full version of SM Pro as the fix is not available in 'patch' format. You can do this from the Sales Manager Pro page on our website. The new version number is 7.0.1 - just make sure you install it into the same directory as the previous version.

Thanks,

Diana

I redownloaded it from the Sales Manager Pro link page on your website.

The version that redownloaded is 7.0.1 (built 1373)

The Shipping Information page still only offers fixed and calculated shipping... or Free if purchased with BIN or from Vendio Store.

On the Site Information page I found the Payment Instructions & Detail button. I don't remember if it was there before I redownloaded.

When I opened it, it gives a choice of specifying or not specifying shipping, (like in my preferences). Is this the fix? Do I ignore the Shipping Information page or do I still have to type zeros as the shipping cost?

Please give me a detailed explanation of how it was fixed.

Thanks again,
Lynn

Hello Lynn,

What are you wanting to offer, in terms of shipping costs, that you are unable to do so?

The error that was corrected is the one that forced sellers to specify a shipping cost.

If that is what your wanting to do, you can do so now.

On the 'basic information' tab, in the 'Winning Bidder Notification' section, uncheck both the WBN and the Vendio checkout options.

On the 'eBay site information' tab, click the 'payment instructions and details' button, then check the option to indicate you are *not* specifying eBay shipping and payment details.

Last but not least, go to the 'Shipping Information' tab and be sure there are no shipping carriers selected (uncheck any that are.)

And thats it, now you can list your item without specifying any shipping costs.

Christopher

Hi Christopher,

You have no idea of how much I appreciate the step-by-steps... I never would have figured it out by myself.

One more question: I unchecked the WBN and Vendio checkout option.

When the auction ends, will it still appear in my control panel's 'closed auctions', so I relist or keep track of the winner?

Thanks again,
Lynn
