I was wondering if there is any progress with the compatibility issues concerning Sales Manager Pro and Windows Vista?
I have done all the recommended workaround steps and it appears that I could complete a listing if I had to but since I still have a computer with Windows XP, I will work on that one for now, as I’m not willing to do all that work and then have something go wrong.
It seems there are still issues with naming the batches and with the drop-down boxes where you make a choice about where you can obtain pictures you saved and where you would like to save your batches. The usual choices are just not there.
With a lot of “fiddling” around, I did manage to get to one of my picture folders but, at this point, I don’t even remember how I did it and if I create a new folder, I don’t know if I can get to it.
I hope there will be some progress soon as I’m sure my XP computer will not last forever, as it is over four years old already and I have had it repaired several times. Any news about this will be very welcome.

Hello Genie,
Once you setup the program specifically for Vista using the provided directions, you should be able to use it again without any side effects.
Try the following:
Uninstall the program and restart the computer.
When finished, try the following:
1. Download the SMPRO software, opting to save - NOT run from its current location.
2. Create a new folder on your C:\Users\Yourusername directory, it doesnt matter what you call the folder.
3. Run the installer for the SMPRO software. When you get to the part where it asks where you want to install the software to, click browse and install it into this newly created folder in your Users directory.
4. When done installing, uncheck BOTH boxes to view the read me and launch the program.
5. Restart the computer.
6. Right click the SMPRO icon, and check the box to run this application as an administrator.
7. Launch the software. - When asked, say 'NO' if it asks if you want to download your images and preferences.
8. When the program is done loading, click the Preferences button along the left side of the page. Check the box at the very bottom of this window that says 'Do not download standard images from Vendio image hosting' and save the change.
At this point you should be able to synch without error.
Thanks for your answer. Will doing this make the drop-down boxes appear properly and will I be able to name the batches as usual? These are my main concerns. I have had no trouble synching or running the program, as I have been starting it as an administrator and that seems to work. But not being able to get the pictures easily is driving me crazy. Please let me know if this will solve the problem. Thanks! Genie

Hello Genie,
As far as I am aware only one other customer has reported this problem with the drop-down boxes and batch names. I am not aware if they tried the steps that Chris advised you to take above, so I can't confirm for sure that those steps will solve that problem as well. It is likely that taking those steps will also solve that problem. However, if they do not, please let us know.

msGenie: PLEASE let us know if this works for you! I have WindowsVista now; all is fine except for the inability to download my folder of photos to Image Hosting. I see this on Vendio:
Vendio XPress Image Publisher
Non-Windows XP users:
Download Sales Manager Pro with offline image management.
Trying to find out if this will enable me to bring a whole folder of photos to Image Hosting as it worked in Windows XP. I don't quite understand what "offline image management" is. Maybe I'm just slow. . . .

Hi, I've tried Christopher's suggestions for use with Vista and everything is great but there's just one problem. When I attempt to select a photo I get a message stating the picture file is corrupted. If I just list at the vendio site, not using SMPro I don't have this problem but it takes way too much time to do listings that way. Does anyone else have this problem and if so any possible solutions.
Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,
Is this happening with just one or two images, or is it happening with all of your images? If it is just one or two images, please try removing the image(s) from your SM Pro. You may upload the image(s) that were halting synchronization directly to our website using the Image Hosting page, and then reimport them into SM Pro after they are online. This way, those particular images will not need to go through the synchronization process.
There are several reasons why an image file may halt synchronization, but most commonly it is due to excessive image size, invalid image format, or corrupted image data.

Christopher: One question. You say,
Try the following:
"UNINSTALL THE PROGRAM (caps mine) and restart the computer.
When finished, try the following:"
Is this assuming I already have SMPro installed? If not, do I just ignore this one thing? ~Adele
