If anyone can help me with this issue I would be very grateful.
I have been using Sales Manager Pro for quite some time.
Today I purchased a new PC and had some of my info transferred to the new PC from th old one. It did not transfer the program files.
I am now trying to download Sales Manager Pro and have followed the instructions to a Tee, but when I click to open or run the Vendio SMPro.exe it seems like it is beginning to run with a very quick screen (bar) that flashed on the screen for a millisecond and then nothing happens.
I have checked my program files to be sure it didn't download and it did not.
I have tried this several times.
I know that that I have quite a few batched saved in SMP. I am wondering if this may be the issue?
Please help!
Thanks

Did you first save the SM Pro file to your computer, and then run it from there? Or did you run it directly from the website, before downloading it? If you have not yet saved the file to your computer, please try doing that first (rather than running it directly from the website). After it has been saved to your computer, please try running it from there.
If you continue to have trouble with this, please let us know what Operating System you are using.
I tried it both ways. The most recent was saving the exe file to my desktop and then trying to run it..that's when I get the quick screen that seems as though it's going to unpack it and load it and then nothing happens.
BUT, if I try and delete the exe icon in order to try and do it again, it tells me I can't because it's in use or some such.
In order for me to delete the icon, I have to restart the PC and then it ends all programs running...and it appears that at least one of them has no name. The only other one I can catch is something like WAS Idle or something close...to fast for me to read it.
I am running Windows XP home edition. I have 2 hard drives - the unaccessed hard drive does have Vendio info on it but it is non accessible. (When I had the info transferred, some of my info from the old PC was transferred to the new one, but not the program files...and it was transferred to the 2nd or back up hard drive (mirror) so I don't see how that wouyld be an issue.
The only other thing I can think of is that due to the size of my SMP file and photos etc..that it is taking quite a while for your servers to do their thing. The only problem with that is that there is nothing indicating that is the case (no clock on the curser - no light on the PC etc..)

I have gone to the add / remove programs. It does not show up.
The file size of the icon on the desktop for the exe file is 10.7MB
It came from your link on the click "here" on the instruction page about how to download SMPro.
I have cleared the cache.
I have tried turning off any antivirus / firewall etc..nothing seems to make a diff and I don't even get notified by the firewall that there is an issue - it's the standard windows Firewall and I doubt very much that is the issue.
Here is another interesting tidbit. When I try and get rid of the exe icon on my desktop (put it in the recycle bin) it won't let me. It states the following;
"Cannot delete Vendio-SMpro:Access is Denied. Make sure the disk is not full or wite protected and that the file is not currently in use"
I don't know if this is because I have clicked on the icon more than once - or if it is because it is trying to load...but from your last email, it sounds like that would not be the case.
Are there any other settings that would prevent this exe from working?
Is your Exe link from that location a bad link?
I'll give it one more shot - then, if it is still not working, it would be nice if you would get on the phone with me on this issue.

Check the processes that are currently running on your computer. Locate the process "Vendio-SMPro.exe" and end the process. Then delete the .exe file, clear your browser cache, reboot your computer, download the .exe file again, and attempt to install the file.
I beleive I had done that. I fact I restarted the PC (which closed all programs).
I followed all of youir instructions.
Just tried agaion to install from the exe that I downloaded freash after a wipe of the cache...nothing
Please call me...walk me thru this...
Email me with your # if you want and I'll call you.
I am beginning to run out of patience here...everything else works...just not Vendio.

Please confirm that you successfully deleted the old version of the SM Pro executable before downloading the new copy. If Windows is not letting you delete the .exe because it is in use, then that will need to be taken care of before anything else.
I have successfully deleted the old version of the SM Pro executable before downloading the new copy.
It still does not work!
As I stated previously, windows doesn't want to let me delete it, but I have been able to do after shutting the computer down and closing all programs.
This is not a common problem and I have not run into it before. I have run out of ideas so I am asking around to find out what else you should try. I will let you know as soon as I have more information for you. Thank you for your patience.
Please explain to me why I am able to download SMPro to my older PC (the operating system has been upgradsed to XP) and it takes the down load - BUT on my new PC it will not take the download.
NOTE that I have even been in contact with the tech that built this PC (he has just about every certification you can imagine) and I gave him my user name and password to try and download the file a well..He has the same issue as I do... so it is not just my PC.

What location have you been saving the program to when you download it to your local drive? Your Desktop, or perhaps your 'My Documents' folder?
Wherever your saving it to currently, switch and save it to the other instead.
Once your done downloading it to the alternate location, close out of any and all open or running programs and restart your computer. Once rebooted, exit any/all open programs and then double click the icon to start the install process.
Run through the default options during the install process (let us know if you changing any of these default options prior to running into the issue) and uncheck the boxes to view the read me or to launch the application.
Once installed, restart the machine once more, this time allowing your normal startup programs to load. Once windows and your startup programs are done loading, go ahead and try launching the program.
If this fails, download the program again (also to an alternate location from where your saving it currently), then restart the computer prior to attempting the install. When the computer is starting to reboot, press and hold the F8 key on your keyboard. When the menu comes up, choose to go into Safe Mode, then continue. Once windows is loaded and in Safe Mode, click the icon to install the SMPRO software. Run with the default options during install, and uncheck the boxes to view the read me or launch the program once installed. Restart the machine again, this time allowing Windows to load normally and load all of its usual startup programs. Once windows and your startup programs are done loading, go ahead and try launching the program.
