In with all the eBay news bytes about the site being totally different by next year, I read that there will be no third party checkout. I love my Vendio checkout and wouldn't want to jump ship. Will there possibly be any re-direct scenario? I know this is all new to Vendio, adjustments take time and answers may not be available yet. But I would appreciate something in the Announcements or an email as soon as possible letting users know what they can expect. Keeping up with all the shifting is getting more complicated. Thanks!

Hello,

That is true, eBay has announced that they will be phasing out third party checkouts by this time next year.

This isn't to say that you won't still be able to control and monitor the checkout process from a third party system, but the specifics are not available at this time. Rest assured this being such a large change that Vendio will be working with eBay directly to be sure the transition is seemless.
Im sure as we get closer to that timeframe more details will be made available to the public - from both eBay and the small handful of third party systems that have been invited to take part.

Regards,
Chris

Chris,
Thank you for your reply and for verifying that Vendio will be working toward finding a solution. That boosts my confidence that there will be smooth transition.

Please, let whoever is working with eBay know that one of the reasons I've never used eBay checkout is they don't have the flexibility you have.

Often I will have a mix of flat rate and calculated options. For example I might have calculated UPS (grrr... it's really going FedEx), flat rate for Greyhound and flat rate for Forward Air.

I've emailed eBay with that concern, but anything you can do from your end would be appreciated.

Also, and this goes for both of you, it would be VERY helpful to be able to add multiple packages for calculated shipping. Sets of china, pairs of lamps, etc go in multiple boxes. Why not just be able to add a line for additional boxes?

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion. I will pass it along. Please also note that it will still be possible to use Vendio checkout with the new changes, but the buyer will have to access it through checkout redirect.

Regards,
Nathan
