Is this why store sales have dropped off 100%?

I tested a bidders checkout tonight. When they win an auction and go through checkout, they confirm their order then can select, "Continue Shopping" ... from there, they can shop my store. Sounds good, right?

Wrong! If they want to by an item, they select "Add to Cart," "Checkout" then, guess what? THEY HAVE TO ENTER THEIR CHECKOUT INFORMATION ALL OVER AGAIN! Payment type, name, address, etc. There is no option to add it to their auction order!

If I was only half interested in upping my order, this would cause me to press, "Back," "Back," "Back" as fast as possible! Who wants to enter their information all over again?

I'm very shocked. I don't remember running into this into any of my other tests. Is this new? Did I just miss this major PITA in my earlier tests?

Sorry to get so emotional, but my AW bill jumped from $25 to $42-59 per month because I wanted to test stores. I'm sorely, sorely disappointed.

Hello ddeva,

I will have to check on this - I believe the information entered the first time should be retained. I am not sure why the system is asking for it a second time.

Thanks for posting, and sorry for the frustration.

I'm extremely curious to know what the resolution was on this?

Is the information now retained if a user wins an auction, enters the checkout info, continues shopping and does a final checkout?

This thread just ended... no idea if this is fixed, was a glitch or what.

Please let us know.

Greg, I tested a few more checkouts of bidder's who used PayPal instant payments (and weren't using checkout).

Here's what I found. If the bidder clicks the "Continue Shopping" link *before* checking out, checkout works AOK.

If the bidder fills in their address, etc., and *then* decides to "Continue Shopping" and selects an item, then they are made to fill out their information all over again.

This really should be fixed. I think many bidders will intuitively want to complete checkout first, then "Continue Shopping" as I did in testing. I as a bidder would be discouraged from buying a storefront item at having to complete checkout allover again.

This is discouraging! I'm curious if your other items that were entered under "promote other items" showed up before they did the checkout process?
