I'm exhausted - I've searched everywhere tyring to figure out where I go to change the greeting text at the top of the View Cart in Checkout.

It doesn't match what I have in Global Preferences and it is missing a few words and letters and well.. sounds stupid the way it is constructed.

I've searched the Store Wizard and Personal Preferences online and I've checked my Preferences in SMPro.

I'm just missing where it is I need to go to change this.

Thanks for your help!

Greg

Hi Greg,

Can you copy and paste the greeting here?

Regards,

Hi Sonya,

Yes, I selected an item in my store, added it to the cart and then it went to the Checkout/View Cart page. Here is the Greeting at the top:

===================================
Hello ,

Please complete the following steps to finalize this transaction. It only take a couple of minutes. As soon as everything is completed, I will ship off 1937 SCHICK SHAVER AD - D.A. Turner Story. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks,

RetroBargains
===================================

If you want to see it first hand, I've left the item in the cart and you can go to this link:

http://shop.auctionwatch.com/RetroBargains/cart.html?

The verbage and flow of the greeting just doesn't go with my other greetings

Thanks!
Greg

Hi Greg,

Unfortunately that text cannot be edited. If you like I can file a suggestion with Product Development to make that an editable field.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks Sonya that would be great!

In the meantime, can someone on your end at least correct the grammatical errors in the greeting?

Specifically:

It only take a couple of minutes.

SHOULD READ: It will only take a couple of minutes.

or: It should only take a couple of minutes.

AND

As soon as everything is completed, I will ship off

SUGGESTION: Either drop the word "off" or replace it with "your" - which would cover multiple items.

Thanks for looking into this Sonya! (and tell Diana thanks again for me and no hard feelings) -

Greg

I second this quick change. I asked that the grammer be fixed in the greeting a LOOONG time ago. It is a little embarrassing and quite unprofessional.

Yep, it's hard to look professional when you're tripping over your tongue...

Believe me, I know, I have footprints on mine. <grin>

We really do need to be able to edit that message. I have my store closed right now - and that is one of the main reasons. My user name on AW is corksmom - as you can see - and it only applies to AW - I would like to be able to edit the Thanks, to show my business name. When they see different names and one has nothing to do with anything looks confusing.

I second that. I used my name as my user name not for it to be displayed on any correspondence. At the time I signed up storefronts did not exist.

More to the point however I wish the ability to control the text of the checkout and also the countries on the checkout. I have gotten order from Nigeria and Russia thanks to the interface and I do not wish to encourage business from these nations.

Thanks AW! My Faith Is Being Restored!

Now... someone mentioned losing the numbers to the left of our categories.... I mean the useless numbers. Okay, I won't push my luck.
