I want to suggest a way be added to select items in my store so that a Global Price Change can be made in a matter of seconds instead of DAYS!
Code for this should be straight-forward. Similar to the MOVE function but allowing a Price Change to take affect to selected items.
EXAMPLE: I'm stocking my store with similar items, but using different categories - I have posted nearly 700 individual items (vintage ads) and I need the ability to make adjustments as needed on prices.
I can't understand why this would have to come down to the individual edit on each item.
Thanks,
Greg Williams

Greg: Just wait until the next postage increase. I had to go in to my store and physically change all priority mail figures. Yes, about 3000 of them. I asked at that time if there was a work around and ....it was being suggested to the black hole of engineering. LOL

No doubt. I bet the plumber is still trying to figure out what to do with all of these high tech suggestions... if you know what I mean.
Well... let me see... almost two days and no response from AW regarding this. Hmmmm..
Seriously I do wonder if AW even has an engineering or product development - probably just one person... who is obviously overwhelmed and could use more people in the department to help take care of the simple things.
Still waiting...but I guess it isn't all that bad since I just referred someone to AW. <grin>

I went over to AuctionWorks and gave their 2 week free trial a spin. They have features like Global Change and their storefronts and inventory have better options. However, they don't have a program like SMpro that you download. You do everything in an excel spreadsheet and then upload. Not real good for our kind of business. Also, the thought of moving 5000 items, one by one...no global upload of pics that I could find sent me scurrying back home to AW...I too have referred several people here. It may not be perfect but it is home (since June 2000!). Good luck!

Yeah I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Strange thing is I've been with AW for an extremely long time too. But I just checked and it says I've only been with them since April 2002. That was the time period that I changed my user name - I think I had to create a new account to do that - oh well. I've been here almost since conception it seems like.
Been here long enough that early on I was banned from posting because of my strong constructive criticism and suggestions at the time.
Since then AW created the message area where you can "air your views" regarding AW - and AW states they don't monitor that area - well... they do, or at least it appears they do since there are direct AW Customer Service responses in there. (Hey, it's their thread anyway!) lol
I just have trouble understanding why it takes so long to fix the little things that could make the difference between a good service and a great service.
I guess with my HTML ability, and the E-Commerce Construction Kit software that I bought a while back, if I was really concerned about it, I would jump in and create my own web page, with checkout the way I want and cut the strings here. If I don't start at least getting "hits" to my AW store soon I guess I'll have to do that.
Until then... I'll settle for second best.
