I am considering opening a store but before I do I want to understand how the Inventory works. I've looked for information in the Help section, but if it is there I missed it.
I use SM Pro 5.0 to launch auctions to ebay. I have multiple units of most items, but I only launch one at the time, most always with BIN price and sometimes with Fixed Price. The launched auctions will become store items after two hours or so and the items will show up as inventory items in the online inventory. Am I correct so far?
Assumming that the above is correct, the next time I launch an auction for Item X, which is already in the store and and in the online inventory, the new auction will also become an inventory item in the store and in the online inventory. The end result is that there will be n occurrences of the same item in the store and n occurrences of the item in the online inventory if n is the number of auctions launched.
I am hopping that I am actually wrong here and your explanation is most welcome.

Hello opus1306,
"The launched auctions will become store items after two hours or so and the items will show up as inventory items in the online inventory. Am I correct so far? "
Actually, no. When you upload from Pro, those items are not tracked in your online inventory. Only items listed via the Online Inventory are tracked there. It is true that all auctions you list to eBay will track into the storefront, but that does not mean they are available for purchase through the storefront, they are simply there as a gallery of your auction items. You would need to specifically list items into the storefront at fixed prices for them to be available for purchase there.
Just be sure that if you only have a single of an item, that you only list it to one venue or the other at a time, to avoid mutiple purchases of a single unit.
