Is there a place to set up Sales Tax? The only thing I see you can only put in how much sales tax you charge. It is then up to the buyer to add it to their payment, which they never do. It would be a lot better if the sales tax was automatically put in when they choose their State.

Hi Gtootie,
You can provide instructions in the text box available that tell your customers to add the tax. Additionally, you can include this in your checkout message. I have logged a suggestion regarding having tax an automatic feature.

It was suggested some time ago. The tax process creates many problems. Out of state buyers seem compelled to enter numbers. Those with wheel mice scroll to the wrong number. Buyers don't understand decimal points or any known language. Buyers in state ignore it. People who don't want to pay tax ignore it. It is a totally unprofessional interface.

The only way that would work would be to not give the customer any control. The sales tax would have to be triggered by the State entered in the address. As sellers we enter in our preferences that we charge say 4% if the buyer enters LA. Maybe Vendio could give us 4 slots like with postage. That way we could also enter a % for parish/county and city taxes. When the buyer enters their address and they live in Alexandria, Louisiana they are automatically charged 4% for state tax and 4.5 % for parish tax.
The local and parish/county may be a little tricky. I can easily understand if that can't be done. I don't know about every one else but I don't have a lot of local sales. I am beginning to get more within my state, so that option would be a big help to me.

That is the point. The customer should have no control over tax options. It is not a voluntary program. In California the sales tax rate is that of the county the sale originates from not the county shipped to. You do not need separate categories for the various district taxes. If in LA everyone pays the LA rate. The only system I have ever seen like Vendios is Vendios. I haven't documented it but believe 5% of the time the customer does something incorrectly regarding tax using this interface. It is counter intuitive. If it is shipped within your state it should apply tax automatically similar to the option PayPal offers all you should need to do is specify the rate once in your sellers preferences.
