For instance, suppose one of your store categories was event tickets. What I'd like to do is have only one choice available to the buyer within that category upon entry.

That would be an agreement that they acknowledge that the sky can fall and martians may attack and by selecting "enter", they accept the rules as laid out and the potential variables (that's not how I'd phrase it.)

It would be easy enough for your DP guys and gals to just attach one to any given category on a single case basis. But I imagine you don't do specialty work.

Still, I've been around for more than four years and the Vendio stores are dark-age stuff. I'm trying desperately to make-shift a Vendio store that will work without having to build a website.

Not being able to give discounts other than cross-merchandising and shipping is a big negative. But not having a traffic cop on the door of one of the categories is tough.

The principle of "abandon all hope ye who enter here!" is a big concept in the film business which, back when, I used to my advantage all the time.

I was thinking that you could html jerry-rig an auction page so that it is the only item in a given category. You could then have two hyperlinks - one if they agree and one if they don't.

If they click "agree" then they would be taken to another category where all the sales items are. Unfortunately, this category would have to be blind to someone casually viewing the site and, unless I'm mistaken, once you put an item for sale in any category, that category name will appear in the category list on the front page of the site.

If there are items in a category called "unfiled", will that show? Or any other designation where the title of the category would not appear in the category list even though it has items for sale in it?

Any other approach?

It's a great idea. I don't see any other approach other than just redesigning the store.

I'll be sure to add this to the the suggestion list!

Before consigning this thread to the bottomless well, there were a couple of questions in my original email.

Is there any category name (such as "unfiled" that will not appear in the list of categories on the Storefront title page even if it has items in it?

Is there any way that a set of items will NOT appear to someone that happens onto the site? Someway or other that a buyer must be directed where to go to find them?

And why are "smiley faces" randomly inserted in messages.

Forceten32-
I appologize for rushing through your post. Let me see if the second go around is better:

1). No, no that I'm aware of.

2). No again. Except items that are at 0 quantity (but these items won't be on the site anywhere).

3). Not sure but my computer doesn't do it. So I'm guessing you've got some shareware software that scans your text fields when you're typing and replaces the ')' with a smiley face. Note that none of your closing )'s appeared.
Best Regards,
