I recently (last week) had my Vendio store hacked and someone got access to all my information and deleted all my inventory. They changed my password and I couldn't even access my account. All of that has been handled by Vendio customer service. Thanks! However, I am looking for ways to secure my account to keep this from happening again.
As a result of this hacking I lost my #1 ranking on several keywords on Froogle and had to re-enter around 600 inventory items. I'm basically back to square one.
Have you tried contacting Froogle about this? Perhaps if you explain to them what has happened they might be able to boost you back to your original ranking.
Froogle isn't any help at all. FYI it's not just my ranking but it's Vendio period. Vendio is placing way way down on Froogle. It seems to have just changed in the last few weeks. Sometimes I'm at the 10th page on a search and still no Vendio comes up.
If everything has been handled regarding your Vendio account, that is good news. You could try contacting the services that the hacker used to get your account -- you might have already done this, I am not sure. You can also invest in a firewall as that might help. Contact your ISP, and make sure that everything is okay with your account. I hope this helps, I'm not sure what you've already done and what was suggested by my colleagues but feel free to let me know if this was already suggested to you.

Whoa...this is a little scary. If someone hacked her store, it was through YOUR system, not hers. So her having a firewall would not help, right?
Is there a security issue we all need to know about?
I just wanted to thank you again for your courteous help in re-accessing my account.
But security is an issue. I do have several firewalls for the record both through my ISP and through Norton. I did not have my Vendio information on my hard drive at the time of the hacking, so it wasn't my computer that got hacked. I would like to know what kind of security measures are or will be put into effect to prevent this from happening to me again or someone else?
In recreating my store I not only created it online, but in Sales Manager Pro as well so that I can be up and running in a few hours as opposed to weeks by just uploading it again to my site. It would be nice though if inventory items/batches could be synchronized and downloaded with online sales manager, eliminating the need to create them separately. It was double the work for me to have to do that.
Thanks,
Leslie

The password was obtained elsewhere and used to log in the same way you would from any computer you visit.
(aka through the usual "front door" so to speak. the same way (most) all stolen account issues happen at eBay and anywhere else. not by hacking into the system, but by tricking someone or someones system into simply volunterring the information.)
