Paypal recently changed their policy and buyer checkout experience so that buyers do not need to sign up for a paypal account to pay by credit cards accepted at websites that accept paypal (non-ebay)
My question is that when buyers purchase items through my vendio store, do you go through this new procedure, or do they have to sign up for a paypal account to pay?
I think vendio should change their payment option/instructions text to encourage more buyers to purchase with their credit card without committing to a paypal account, if this is in fact true.
We offer an option for customers to pay with credit card, but the seller must have a merchant to process credit cards. When an item is purchased in Vendio, they fill out the order form and when they confirm it if PayPal is the chosen method, they click the Pay Now button and make the payment.
My suggestion to you is, if you like, you can enable the Direct Offline Processing Method in your Global Preferences and in the instruction box, tell customers they can make a credit card payment on PayPal to you without having to sign up for a PayPal account. They will see that on the Confirmation page and will have to type in the PayPal address in a web browser, but they will still be able to go to Paypal and pay for the item.

I am not talking about the merchant account credit card processing at all.
What I was trying to find out was whether vendio has implemented the new paypal's 'enhanced buyer checkout experience' for its stores...meaning that before only paypal account holders could send you a paypal payment, now even non paypal account holders can pay with their credit card through the same paypal checkout (only for website payments), and have the option to sign up for an account at the end of the payment.
This is something that would be very useful for both buyers and sellers.

If the new 'paypal buyer checkout experience' without a paypal account requirement is supported, the payment option wording on vendio stores should be changed to reflect that, since many buyers just see the paypal logo, and think they would have to sign up to pay via their credit card, when in fact it is optional.
I made a test item in my store and went through the checkout myself, and YES infact the new 'account optional' paypal checkout is displayed to the buyer.
So, Thanks Vendio for implementing this new option.
However, as I mentioned before, the payment option wordings should be modified to reflect the same...I have put custom text in, but it would be more professional if vendio does it as part of the checkout instructions for buyers.
Finally, another problem I found with vendio store orders is that if I buyer does not pay immediately after placing the order, there is no way of going back to the order confirmation page and completing the order (paying later through paypal).
Even in the email that vendio sends out, there is no link to the checkout....maybe should be incorporated in future releases.
