Currently I'm with AMZ and half.com and a little bit of Ebay. I'm getting better items to sell and they're selling, but slowly (items like cameras, CDs, audiotapes -- no books!!). anyway the items are catching attention and I'm making between 30-$70 a month.

Is it worth it to open a vendio store?
Would you reco it?
The fees at AMZ & Ebay are too expensive when you consider the commission on top of basic fee.
What exactly does Vendio do for you?

Well i have posted this same question a few times. No reply. I have tried vendio stores a few time and had complaints about there checkout. I have sold 5 items here and only 1 paid. When you try to get a refund from here you have to hunt for the link and send each transaction # and total. I think they should have a easier way of fileing a non payer. I have cloed my store here and unless they have a better system i will stick with the high fees of Ebay.. Just my 2 cents..

Vendio stores are not set-up for Meta search, so they are not really ever found. Your store front will never show up in google or yahoo or any other. Because the Vendio store is not set up for meta search, you can not manually list the store address (URL)to any search engines. Well you can try to list it, but it wont be accepted.

The nice thing about vendio stores is:

if you sell on eBay and have an eBay store with the same items as listed in your Vendio store, both will send the items you have up for sale to froogle. The individual listings are meta searchable, but you have to set up, both eBay and Vendio stores to send the information on your listings to froogle.

Another nice thing about Vendio stores, and froogle, and a quantity of listings is that it will help create back links, which google and yahoo will pick up on. If you are linking to your eBay store, store categories, and other store pages and listings, then this turns into a nice linking strategy for your eBay store. But no real help with the Vendio store, as the pages can not be ranked.

Another means of driving traffic to your Vendio store is the Vendio Gallery which shows up in all of your listings and uses a double click method to send those looking at your eBay listings to your Vendio store. The draw back to this is that eBay has pounded the importance of buying on eBay and selling on eBay for your own protection into everyone, if someone is going to buy, they will mostlikley do it on eBay.

This leads to another drawback. Vendio has no policies for buyer or seller protection. If someone is mad at you and knows about Vendio or just out of pure meanness, decides to purchase a lot of your items out of your Vendio store, and not pay. Well you are stuck, now you have to go through the very painful process of trying to follow Vendio policies for getting fees back. Good luck finding the policies and the page to file for FVF credit. Also be prepared to open three pages and bounce back and forth through the Vendio pages to gather all the info you need to file for the FVF credit. Very user unfriendly for chump change. How many people do you think have given up on this process just because it was made so hard to do?

If you use a Vendio store, don't do it for sales. In my mind it is just a means of keeping up with inventory and a minor means of linking strategy for an eBay store. I have had an Vendio basic store open for better than two years with a little over 300 hits.
