I have a Vendio store right now, but it is not serving my needs very well. I am thinking about opening up a Yahoo store or doing my own hosting using a shopping cart like Zen Cart or CubeCart, but I have read that there are some changes coming to Vendio stores soon (sometime this year), and that might be enough to have me stick around with my Vendio store. The two things that I really want to be able to do with my Vendio store are:
1.) Use my own domain name
2.) Have coupon codes that I can give to my customers.
Everything else is perfect (well, I would also love to see parent/child categories, but that is not AS important as the other two things). Are either of these features being looked at (which one?) and if so, do you have an estimate as to when they will come (one month, six months, one year, etc...?)
I'm not trying to scare you into thinking that I am going to switch from Vendio stores...I love Vendio and will continue to use you for all of my eBay auctions, but I really want to expand out from there and right now Vendio stores do not offer me the ability to do that. Any help that you can provide will be very useful. Thanks in advance.

Hello Andrew,
Coupon codes are actually pretty high on the list of possible changes when the stores are upgraded.
As for using your own domain, while there are possible options for this to be done on our side, there are also ways for you to get this 'look' right now.
Basically you would use a redirect system to send buyers from a specific domain over to your Vendio storefront instead. In some cases you can set it up to mask the domain, so the buyer never realizes they are actually at your current URL (as it would display the primary domain name at the top at all times.)
Any very basic webhosting package should give you enough space needed to setup a simple redirect.

Thanks. You are very helpful. I know about the aliasing thing, but I seemed to remember that I read on here a while back that someone was having trouble with it. Regardless, if the coupon codes are going to come sometime then I can get over the URL being different...I don't really care too much about that. I have a few more questions now...you said that the coupon codes are pretty high on the priority list. I am currently a Vendio customer but I primarily use the eBay features...will I be able to use the coupon codes for both eBay auctions and for store items? Also, is there any way that you can be a little more specific as to when we *might* see the coupon code availability?
Also, I already have a Vendio store, but I would like to open up a new one under a different name. I want to be able to keep my current one open also...what I am wondering is when I sign up for a new store will I have to sign up for the checkout features again? I don't really want to have to pay for the checkout features twice, although I don't mind paying for more than one store. Do you understand that question? Please let me know either way. Thanks!
Unfortunately we do not have a timeframe for the storefront changes at this time. When we do we will post back to this forum.
As for signing up for an additional storefront, you would only be paying for the storerfront itself. There is nothing separate to sign up for in order to use the checkout tools for your storefront transactions.

Christopher,
Thanks. Is there any way that I can change the template of my store? I would like to have it look different than it does because ALL vendio stores look the same. I would be willing to pay for this service if it is possible. Is that even an option?
There are no ways to change the template of your storefront outside of what your finding in the wizard currently. Some users will embed a bit of HTML code in the 'title' or other available fields to override some of the storefront code, but be sure to test your stores ability to add items to a shopping cart if you try this as it can cause problems.
As this time there are no fee based options for editing the stores, but we will be happy to pass along a request on your behalf to see if this could be done in the future.
