Is there some way to display only Vendio Store listings in my Vendio Store? I do not wish to display anything on eBay but wish to maintain Vendio chekout for eBay.

Good morning Dave.
Very easily done if you know where to look. Go to Vendio Stores, click on edit Properties, Click on Other Details.
There is an option to show Vendio items only in store and checkout. Click that and your ebay items will disappear from your store.
I had mine removed and then two different eBay customers complained that they were redirected to my store (via the 2-click rule) and could not find the ebay ad they wanted AND the vendio store one. So I re-enabled.

Thanks Beth, In light of eBays upcoming fee structure I'll take the risk of annoying a few potential customers.
Like you I sell a lot of lowere priced items and cannot afford the 10% FVF as well as the increased listing fees while maintaining profitability.
Before I opened an eBay store my Vendio store was marginal but growing. My eBay store killed my Vendio store and I never saw the need to promote it.

Dave: I too saw a dramatic drop in Vendio store sales when I opened my eBay store.
Befuddled as to why. Was it because I was listing less to the Vendio store? Was it because of search engine placement (mine seems to have tanked for some reason)? Was it because customers come to the Vendio store and then go to the ebay store?

Hi,
I believe that it is an ease issue. It's easier to find your eBay store than your Vendio store therefore it is found more often. I no longer display eBay items in my Vendio store; I treat it as a separate site and have my domain name pointed at it. On the day I made the change I had the largest sale in quite a while placed on the Vendio store site. It could be coincidence. I've had my eBay store for quite a while and it accounts for 1/2 of my eBay sales. Unfortunately I am in the target group of eBay sellers, my items are mostly under $10.-. I sell a lot of them. I can't afford the increase in FVF and maintain my profitability nor can I raise prices and remain competitive. I find myself between a rock and a hard place.
My solution is to promote other sites. I am considering earthling.com and rubylane as being potentially viable. I intend to list only my more expensive items in eBay stores after the price raise becomes effective. I'll probably close all of my listings and relaunch them the day before the deadline.
I considered your advice on whether to display eBay items in my Vendio store and decided I would risk alienating some buyers as an acceptable risk. I have found most of my actions do not please everyone, I can live with that.

Hi Beth and Dave,
Reading your discussion here with great interest. I am a long time user of Vendio but this past February I stop using them except for image hosting and the store. I hated to do it but I couldn't afford the fees, primarily because how expensive Ebay is. So my Vendio store is a stand alone site without any Ebay listings in there.
I really haven't done much with my Vendio store at all, however last holiday season I was selling things out of it almost daily and since then a few items each month. This was with only maintaining approx. 40 to 45 items there.
With the astronomical fee hike ebay is imposing on Store sellers, I too want to ramp up my Vendio store. I have approx. 650 items listed on Ebay and a little over 60 items in my Vendio store. I would like to move approx. another 200 items over, thus reducing my inventory at Ebay and those ridiculous fees.
Things I have done so far include pointing a domain name towards my Vendio store, advertising on my 'me' page at the very top and I will be writing about my Vendio store in my blog.
Now on my Vendio home page I have a link back to my Ebay Store. Still pondering if that is a smart move or not. It does include the referral link so maybe if they do go back to ebay to buy at least I will get that 75% fee credit.
I want customers to know about my reputation at ebay to make them feel more confident buying off ebay so I including a link to my feedback page on Vendio's 'about us' page.
Any suggestions? Truly would appreciate if you could take a quick look at my store:

I love the Mickey Mouse character but I'm afraid it might be distracting?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks ~ Sharon
I like Mickey and don't find him very distracting. Checked out your store and it is very clean. I stole the idea about feedback on the store page.
In return:
Other ways to promote your store:
Assuming eBay's 2-click rule is still in effect, you can link from each auction to your vendio store by making the link your vendio store page that shows ONLY your ebay items. However, all of your items will show in the left navigation bar.
I just got $70 worth of Steinway ads from my Vendio store added to an eBay purchase due to the buyer using Vendio Checkout (although he has an option not to). So by sure and use the Cross Promotions.
All of my ebay and vendio emails mention my vendio store.
In each package I include a neon pink coupon for my vendio store. Had a big coca cola order because of that.
I am linking my store to sites like car collectors, bottle collectors, etc. They need the links and their visitors collect old ads. You might find something similar in your area.
I am negotiating right now to advertise on an ephemera website and a collector's organization newsletter. Instead of Google or Yahoo ad words, I think advertising on a site like: Game Collectors of America (for you) makes more sense.
Some people here make great use of the emails harvested when you sell something. I never have. I may in the future tho. I know my sister buys from one lady on here and got an email from here the other day about the fee increase and her new store.
That is my 2 cents. Let's start a regular thread going in here for everyone using stores as to how to be most effective.

Hi Beth,
Thanks very much! I appreciate you checking out my store and giving me some tips.
Unfortunately I don't use Vendio for listing my Ebay inventory so I won't be able to link from my auctions to my Vendio store.
Things that are on my to do list:
I am making up postcards(Vistaprint.com)
to announce my Vendio store and offer a 10% discount off their first purchase. I will include one in each of my Ebay packages. Actually I was only thinking about this idea and then when you mention your coupons, it gave me the push to get that done. Plus there is a special right now, the first 100 are free - you just pay S/H.
All of your ideas are right on and I thank you for sharing.
I am going to post a Promote your Store Discussion to let people know its a great idea to share tips and strategies.
